I booked Friday lunch here with a degree of suspicion / trepidation but I should not have been worried. We walked into a large but warm dining area as a party of 9 (2 families) and were greeted by the very friendly owner Nika who seated us, explained the set menus and embarked on serving us a delicious leisurely lunch consisting of hearty dishes including things like spring rolls (which were actually long samosas), chicken skewers, lamb blackstrap, slow cooked beef, a delicious risotto and capped off with yummy freshly cooked apple tarts.
Wines by the glass were largely from the winery’s previous owners and accompanied the meal nicely.
A highlight was the gin tasting. 2 gins with the rooibos infused option my favourite.
The plans for this winery are big after a disjointed start thanks to Covid 19.
I will look forward to visiting frequently to admire their progress and look forward to acquainting myself with their new wines, gins and whisky!
Despite Beechworth’s many great wines there are few offering a dining option so I predict that Glenbosch will become very very popular given the quality of all round food, drinks, service and location.

Visited Glenbosch Wine Estate over the long weekend with 2 friends for a winery girls day out over the long weekend in March.
The booking was made with the female owner over the phone and was a very smooth process. I called up I wanted to enquire about the complimentary shuttle from Beechworth. The owner confirmed there was availability. On the day, I received a text confirming the shuttle pick up time, we were picked up in a Mercedes van from our Beechworth accommodation by the owner herself, and driven to the winery which was about 10 minutes or so away from the main town.
We were immediately taken back by the stunning views at the farm property, and the cute alpacas who greeted us on arrival. It was a stunningly sunny day therefore we wanted to have our wine tasting outside. The $10 pp wine tasting cost is not charged if you are eating at the restaurant.
Being the long weekend. we had pre-booked our lunch at the restaurant and sat outside under the vine covered canopies. We enjoyed delicious gin infused cocktails, one entree to share and we all ordered the seafood pasta for mains (which was divine and filling enough to make us NOT want any dessert.)
After lunch, we had some gin tastings indoor inside the main tasting area which is a very modern and stylish room. We then let all our food and drink settle in and sat on the chairs out on the farm in the sunshine. When we were ready to leave, we let the staff know we were ready to be dropped back off at our accommodation in Beechworth.
The owner once again was the driver. We had purchased a box containing 6 bottles of Glenbosch's wine (the Sangiovese Blush which we tried during the tastings and is amazing!) .. the owner was kind enough to take us to our accommodation first, for a very quick pit-stop to drop off the box of wine we had puchased. She then dropped us into town where we wanted to explore for the rest of the day.
We had a beautiful afternoon and memorable experience at Glenbosch and we would like to graciously thank the owner and the staff at Glenbosch for their hospitality.

‘Vera’ has recently opened at Glenbosch Estate. Located a short 10 k drive from Beechworth this venue has beautiful views across the vineyards and highlands. The owner and staff are very welcoming a make you feel immediately at ease. There is a choice of indoor/outdoor seating. The menu is set, with numerous share plates and changes weekly depending on what is locally available. The food was nothing short of outstanding. Thoughtful and creative, using a wide range of fish, meat, poultry, vegetables and herbs beautifully constructed and every mouthful a delight. A wonderful selection of regional wines are available by the glass or bottle. ‘Vera’ is a must visit location for a relaxing long lunch where you can enjoy excellent food and wine in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere while enjoying the spectacular views and wildlife of the Victorian highlands.

Wow, wow, wow….. I could stop the review there!
The winery is located just a couple of minutes out of Beechworth on the southern side, as you approached you can see the prime location for this winery set with a backdrop the vineyards and hills.
We attended the winery were not disappointed, the staff were extremely friendly, polite and welcoming. As you enter you can smell the delicious foods being cooked in the semi-open kitchen area.
We were seated in indoors near the window and ordered a couple of drinks for the table, being a couple of beers, a bottle of Modesto (sensational), an espresso martini and the Glenbosch 2020 Sauvignon Blanc….. All superb!
We then ordered meals which were cooked to perfection, I would recommend the grilled scallops as a starter and the Charcoal Grilled Black Angus Eye Fillet, although everyone loved their meal no matter what it was.
We sat, ate, talk, laughed, drank and took in the magnificent view.
The meal and drinks for 5 people was about $380 which I thought was excellent considering the quality.
If you are in the area and want a high end meal and an absolutely sensational time, head over to Glenbosch winery.

The restaurant is now operated by Glenbosch and named accordingly. Vera is gone.
I posted a review a few months before the change. It was not complimentary. The Glenbosch owner replied.
"Hi Stephen That is very harsh, but we dare you come again when we open the restaurant, owners operated, à la cart menu, if you feel the same, you don’t have to pay"
I dined for lunch and as I entered I considered the two possible outcomes, viz free bad food or good food I had to pay for.
Luckily the latter eventuated.
PROS
Excellent staff again
Very interesting menu options
Starters (should be called entrees) very good value at $20
Glenbosch Sauvignon Blanc was very good but not made from Yarra Valley fruit
Glenbosch wines by glass at $10
CONS
No bread & butter (even at a cost)
Modesto wine (made by previous owners) was terrible but I was too well mannered to complain. Use in cooking or discard.
Wine list is very limited
Braised Lamb dish was very good but pots were too small for a hungry diner.
Fries (chips) are on the menu. This is an unnecessary cliche and detracts from the better food.
The experience was very good.
Food ingredients and cooking were what is expected in a classy establishment.
I meant to say thanks to the chef and find out who he is.
I had two starters, pork and scallops and was very happy with both.
As mentioned above the lamb dish for $40 was very stingy on meat.
I should have had a dessert. The choice was enticing and probably well worth $15.
Congratulations to the owners for resurrecting a basket case.
Glenbosch is about to become very hard to book but don't forget dinner is available on Friday and Saturday.

Glad you came back Stephen and that you enjoyed our experience.
We are more a casual eatery than your typical winery restaurant. Would just want to add the $20 and $40 is just for covid restrictions, our menu is normally individually priced.
We will have our first estate wines from end of 2021 / start of 2022 but the more premium range end 2022.
Best wishes
Nika

An impromptu lunch out saw us try Glenbosch following a recommendation from friends. We arrived and we’re seated promptly, given drink and food menus and a choice of sparkling or still water. My wife chose a Ginacolada and I chose a glass of their own Tuscan Red blend for drinks. We chose African Samosas with chilli jam and Jollof Rice balls as entrees which, given how busy they were, arrived in good time. Both dishes were amazing and full of flavour. For mains, we chose The Black Angus Eye Fillet with duck fat potatoes and smoky tomatoes and The Braised Beef Potjie with yellow rice, beet pickle and fresh bread slices. As a side, we chose the Waffle-cut Fries with Lemon Aioli. We both agreed this is easily one of the best lunches we have ever had. The staff are friendly and very efficient and you get to look out over some beautiful countryside. Be warned, it is not cheap but we consider it great value given the quality and presentation of the meals. Put it on your list for North East food experiences in Victoria.

We drove past on our way into Beechworth and happened to see the sign to the winery. We rang and booked in. The atmosphere and the scenery is beautiful and very relaxing.
The menu is small but covers everything you would want.
The cost is very reasonable.
The food is amazing and beautifully presented.
We chose the three course option and replaced the desert with a cheese platter which was divine. The fillet steak was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth.
The snacks they supply on arrival are complementary and very tasty.
The service is amazing and very personal.
The owners did the gin tasting and explained the flavours and the process in the making of it.
I can't wait to return after restrictions are wound back.
It was absolutely lovely!

Vera is fantastic, fully recommend it. We were a group of 4 who love dining out, and I say without hesitation this is our new favorite.
The meal was fixed, but any food sensitivity is quickly and efficiently dealt with. I have an allergy to walnuts so got a first dish of sardines instead of the sausage rolls, they were absolutely delicious,
The menu changes weekly so best not to go into detail except to say that it’s beautifully constructed with an eye to wonderful local ingredients, some grown by the staff themselves.
We travelled from northern NSW meeting family who live locally, and it was a welcome respite from our trip to spend time enjoying this space.
Staff are welcoming, attentive and great aT providing details of the dishes.
Wine list contains a lot of Glenbosch wines as to be expected. There are also some really nice non alcoholic cocktails.
Opening times are limited to 4 lunchtimes, but it’s worth planning your time to be there. We did and are so pleased.
We were full after the degustation, but were keen on desert so got take away desert, it was yummy.
The $65 is very reasonable for the incredible meal.
We will be back.

We had a small wedding party of 10 (covid safe) and were accommodated beautifully in the Cellar Door. Running late (as weddings often do) but restaurant were patient and although we had to make some quick decisions to order before the kitchen closed, the meals were delicous, great value for money and the service was excellent. Even the bowl of lattice chips we got for the kids were amazing.
I would highly recommend and cannot wait to go back again soon!
Oh and the Gin...try the Coral Rose Gin, delicious

Booked for - pre Mothers Day dinner. Been before at lunchtime and found to be great. Dining room great ambience.
On this occasion several preferred dishes not available. My steak was lovely if a bit plain. Other family members passable but felt a little more seasoning would have improved. Soba salad awful
Felt rushed into ordering. Wine plonked on the table unopened with glasses
Wait person walking around with coat on after 8 pm so felt expected to leave
Found tipping system unusual. Will go again in the daytime.

As a peak time in our staff crisis, running months without a head chef, no full time waiters, your comment does not surprise me, but is still sad to hear. Hope you come again, we have an amazing head chef now. We are still struggling a bit with staff crisis days here and there but overall we are alright now. Hope to set your review correct.

Four of us enjoyed a 3 course dinner that has to be one of the best meals we’ve had. Entree, Main and Dessert (plus wines) were faultless as we enjoyed the serenity of a sunset in the evening. Highly recommend. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

From my first enquiry with Glenbosch it was obvious that the staff here would be engaging and friendly.
We hadn't booked for a Friday lunch as we have a large dog, and with the terribly cold wet weather we were encountering we weren't sure if we would be able to comfortably attend with our furbabe.
On arrival and speaking with the gorgeous bubbly Leteisha(I'm sure I have spelt her name wrong), she was able to find an indoor window table for us right in front of the outdoor covered area for our furboy, so we could be nice and warm and enjoy a lovely lunch, and he could be dry and know we were near by.
We chose the 2 course $69 lunch and it was just so full of flavour, beautifully presented and enjoyable. We also ordered the broccoli salad which is a fantastic side. Paired with a bottle of Chardonnay which we were able to test in a wine tasting in the cellar door before dining.
Definitely worth avoiding the more "popular" nearby winery regions and taking the time to visit here.

We were looking forward to a great night as it was a celebration for us, we found we could only order the steak because all other mains had either chilli or seafood which neither of us like. I ordered mine well done as I find it needs cooking to have flavour, the longer cooking caramelises the juices. As it was only served with so-called Paris Mash, we also added the side of steamed veg. My steak was more medium rare than well done, I blame myself for not sending it back. The mash was lumpy and ordinary, Paris Mash should be smooth and creamy. My partner Keith, asked the waitress what wine she'd recommend to go with the steak, she said she couldn't say as she didn't know. At a winery? Half way through our meal we enquired as to what had happened to the vegetables, by the time we finished they still hadn't arrived so we cancelled them. We purposely sat indoors as I always get eaten by mossies in the evening, but because of having two doors open we spent the entire night waving away the flies hovering around our meals. We really wanted to like the place but sadly..........

Seems like you had an awful time here, wow. That is really disappointing. We get “best steak” comments every day, so not sure what happend there. As everyone, we don’t have staff, so use casual staff, and don’t always have time to train them, but we only bottled our first reds just now, and they know to ask management and never say that they don’t know. Apologies for the bad experience, but maybe next time tell people in the restaurant when you are not happy, we would have bend over backwards to make it right.

This restaurant /winery is world class. Take the time to enjoy beautifully prepared food in spectacular surroundings, served by friendly, knowledgeable staff.
I simply can not wait to go back. One of the most relaxing dining experiences I have enjoyed in a long time. The backdrop of the National Park against the vineyard & garden was simple but classy. Could have settled in for hours.

We booked ahead for our dinner reservation. The Estate is about 10 Minutes out of Beechworth in a stunning setting, there is a restaurant and a cellar door. We sat under the veranda and watched the sunset. Glenbosch also have their own Gin label which we tried in the Glenbosch Gin, Lemon, Lime & Bitters. They have a selection of wines and beers or soft drinks. Our service was wonderful, prompt and cheery. Dinner was flawless, we had twice cooked Pork Belly and the stacked Chicken burger. For dessert we had the Lemon Gin tart and Caramel Parfait. The entire experience was absolutely amazing and we will definitely be recommending it to friends and family and hope to return again soon.
