Don’t go if you want old-school heavily topped cheap ingredient pizzas; do go if you want thin tasty wood-fired crusts with well-chosen quality flavourful toppings.
Drinks list is good, we had a delicious local red (can buy by glass or bottle) and our side salad was fresh, generous, and well dressed. Staff are delightful, ambience is friendly, casual and relaxing.

We were met at the door by the owner's wife ,(who is delightful) and shown to our table. We ordered a pizza each which was a bit much for us as we are not big eaters. The pizzas were supperb and we were given a box to take home what we had not eaten( lunch the next day great) If you are a pizza fan this is not to be missed.

We went here on a Friday night. It was quite difficult to book because you can only call after 5pm and they don't always answer the phone, but we did manage to book a table eventually. We were a little disappointed that our table was in the corner, near the kitchens but the worst thing about it was that it was so dark where we were. The restaurant in general was well lit and had cutesy fairy lights but where we were was so dark we could hardly see the menu. They need to put a small lamp on the table so that people don't feel so stuck in the corner.
The food was delicious, very nice pizza and not a bad price for a bottle of wine, a garlic bread and 2 pizzas.
The service was great but we felt rushed out when our waitress came over with the bill and a card machine at 8.10, before we had finished our bottle of wine. Our table was only booked from 7.00 and this made us feel as if we had to leave soon.
Overall a good restaurant with tasty food, but definitely some room for improvement.

We’d love a pizza place like this in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne! Great (thin) crust and toppings. Our salad was also good. My only gripe Is that the pizzas are very small yet fully priced at $24. Service is fast and friendly. We sat in the outside area which lacked a bit in ambience. Still, recommended.

We have dined here many times over the years and the pizza and service are always spot on. One of my favourite pizza places I have ever dined at and the pizza is consistently delicious. The service is always super friendly.

Terrific home made, wood oven unique pizzas on a cold night were delicious. The service was great, time to wait, excellent and the taste = amazing. I love this place and always enjoy a meal here every trip to Airey's.

This is our favourite Pizza Restaurant on the Surf Coast. The range of Pizzas is very good, and there are a number of side dishes also available. The service is amazing, we were served very quickly after ordering. Highly recommended.

Our time here was Perfect, from the moment we arrived we were welcomed warmly by the wait staff. Our table was really close to the pizza prep and oven area where the Pizza guys were going hard to produce their wood fired Awesomeness. We had a Cheesy Garlic Pizza followed by a Spicy seafood Pizza that was dead set sensational and washed down with a generous list of local craft beers. Lastly my wife had the Warm Brownie and I hooked into the Dessert Pizza and could hardly walk out I was so full. This was a great night out at a beaut price, good job.

The staff are super friendly and welcoming, food is amazing, atmosphere is always spot on.
They have a great selection of beer and wine.
Always happy to modify our pizzas to be vegan (although would love to see some more vego options on the menu 🙂)

Ate at the Captain based solely on Trip Advisor Reviews. It didn’t disappoint. Amazing pizza’s that would stand up to some of the bigger name Napoli style places in Melbourne. Kids pizzas too which is great for families and great selection of local beers. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals and so did the kids. Highly recommend! Only thing missing was some kind of Nutella pizza or Calzone for dessert!

We got the Captains Pizza takeaway - 11 inch size for $27. We ordered & it was made & cooked in literally 5 minutes which sounds good but it must have been put into an overly hot oven to cook so fast & it was quite burnt on the pastry - but the very small amount of toppings were limp & soggy. Overall a very disappointing pizza (surprised they could have made it so bad after all its a pizza - how hard is it?). It would have been adequate for one person as an entree if if had tasted any good - but $27? If you are desperate go for it but go elsewhere if you can!

We visited on a week night during the summer holidays and service seemed slow for the number of people dining. Pizzas were alright, but nothing really exceptional. Plenty of choice of Italian cuisine

The pizza was good, the dessert pizza was delicious. The service was wonderful. Not sure about the greens and how fresh it was. It very has a good vibe and made it an interesting evening.
