I booked in with my husband as I heard this iconic restaurant was closing in January 2020, Im glad I did! The food here is exceptionally great! So delicious and well put together, everything I expected. The waiter was so lovely, helpful and had a...thick Italian accent which made our experience so much more fun and authentic. The owners were there to Welcome us and go over the specials with perfect finesse and made us feel so comfortable, we felt like we had just walked into a friends home for a meal. Having said that, don't think this is a basic venue... It is classically and delightfully adorned in citrus shades with the art of many friends on the walls. I wish I felt compelled enough to walk around and take in all the art! But the food held me captive! All up this is an absolute MUST for lovers of excellent Italian food. We will absolutely be going back before they sadly close their doors for ever.More

Thank you so much for you wonderful review. We are indeed closing - January 30 2021 will be our last service after 38 years in Paddington. We look forward to our next hospitality venture with our children. Kindest, Sally

We had heard about this place for a while & thought we would try it. Its staff were very nice lovely atmosphere. Food was nice but fill that the portion were on the small size for what they are charging.

Many thanks for choosing Lucio's. I am disappointed you felt our portions were small because if anything, we tend to err on the side of generosity. The premium products we use determine the end price. Your visit is much appreciated. Kindest, Sally

Still good. Pleasant atmosphere, mild relaxing decor no intrusive music - or if there was any it wan't intrusive. Good ambience. Good food (set menu with choices) good service and good loos. Very satisfactory offering under difficult circumstances (Coroa Virus). Parking could be a problem...if a busy time. Two of us, well fed (three courses) with a bottle of wine between us came to around $ 330. Pleasantly, the bill did not include a presumptive gratuity. On our list for all special occasions.More

This is the best Italian experience in Sydney. Hatted restaurant in a beautiful quiet area. Inside the decor is brilliantly presented. The staff are fantastic. Lucio wanders around to add to the atmosphere. The food is exceptional. The wine list is fantastic.

My husband and I recently dined at Lucio's. It's a cosy, romantic setting, filled with artworks on every wall. We tried a few things off the menu, some were better than others. It wasn't as great as I expected it to be, but it was...good. It's expensive and I felt the staff were not very attentive. They were quite flustered. Maybe it was just that night, but I wasn't impressed. Glad we tried it, bit it's not on my 'visit again' list.More

First time visit to Lucio's that hopefully won't be the last! Dining here is not only about the food (which is buonissimo), but also about the unique ambience that makes you feel like eating in an art gallery, and also the service that you expect...from a well-run Italian family restaurant (i.e. more warmth and charm, less formality). The "tagliolini alla granseola" (green noodles with crab) lives up to its reputation as the mainstay dish since the restaurant opened (35 years ago). Loved the cannoli too, cleverly paired with grapefruit to give that refreshing edge. Do remind yourself of your limits, though, because there is this waiter that can absolutely sell anything, from oysters to wine (not a bad thing, if you have a big allowance). Melbourne may have its Grossi Florentino and Cafe Di Stasio, but for a dining experience like Lucio's, it's only in Sydney.More

It’s some years since I was last at Lucio’s and my memories were happy ones - of excellent food and professional service. This time we were seated in the back section and therefore subjected to the considerably less-than-professional ministrations of a waiter who, it would...have to be said, showed little respect for his customers. This area was empty by 8pm and the waiter’s interest in us apparently evaporated at this stage - to the extent that he disappeared and had to be summoned by the kitchen staff (a loud ‘hoy’, believe it or not) to return in order to serve our food. Being so close to the kitchen allowed us to listen to loud conversation from the kitchen staff, punctuated by much banging and clattering. Yes, the food was good, for which we were grateful, but the whole experience was ruined by the service.More

Thank you for taking the time to provide this valuable feedback. I do apologise for the service you received on the night. Clearly not our usual standard. We will certainly have a conversation with the waiter concerned. I am sure any neglect was not intentional....More

First time here. Had heard about the wonderful patronage of Lucio for promising artists in Sydney, many of whose artworks adorn his restaurant walls. The food "northern Italian" was superb, the service excellent, the staff in general welcoming, attentive and helpful. Of course, Lucio himself...overseeing the evening performance. Will definitely be back.More

My first visit for my birthday coincided with Lucio’s monthly Epicurean Delights dinner. The theme was Liguria vs Sardegna with wines from both regions and delicious seafood meals. Fabulous friendly personalised service and an amazing meal. A great evening, thank you!
