Been here a few times with friends. Food is good for sharing but you can also grab your own meals. To access the restaurant you have to park in a dodgy looking carpark. It's a little on the rough side location wise but inside is...fine. They do taco Tue and happy hour for cocktails has been on most days we've eaten there. I didn't rate the dessert with the brownie in it but otherwise the food was good. The food is decent and it's an unexpected hidden restaurant in an industrial area/hotel space.More
It doesn't matter where you live in Sydney you need to come here. The location isn't the prettiest, but the food and service more than makes up for it. Delicious food and the staff are fantastic After visiting one of the worst Mexican restaurants in...Sydney in July, that was a nice changeMore
hidden gem located in an industrial area. the food and ambience was amazing. i went on a tuesday night they had $3 tacos and $10 cocktails. have eaten at many good mexican places in australia and this was hands down my favourite. my only criticism...was it was busy and sometimes took a little long to get the waiters attention. food came out in good time thoughMore
Dont be put off by the facade! Inside sits a smashing mexican restaurant, featuring quality cocktails, a decent red sangria and tasty tacos and enchaladas. Next door is a nice little pub and accomodation too if you decide to kick on!!
We came to El Topo recently to celebrate my husband's birthday, on the recommendation of a good friend. Sorry to say it was a big disappointment all round. The waitress who served us wasn't very knowledgeable about the menu, so we took a chance and...crossed fingers. Our entrees were brought out and before we could even start, our mains arrived! Sadly, the food really wasn't up to scratch and the chorizo and pea croquettes were stone cold in the middle and overcooked on the outside. My husband LOVES Mexican food and we've eaten this cuisine all over the world and this has to be one of the worst experiences. We ordered three entrees and three mains and sadly, can't say anything great about any of the courses. The restaurant only had a couple of patrons, and the general feeling was that they were eager to close up and we were not really comfortable lingering over drinks, as we'd usually do when out celebrating. Aesthetically, nice decor, but the carpark, as a first impression, does them no PR favours and there was an abandoned car which had been heavily damaged right near the entryway. Overall, limited menu, amateurish service and not a night we'll been repeating.More
Super convenient parking right outside. Nice ambience and decor with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The chicken and fish (I was surprised) tacos were yum, coupled with burgers from next door.
