It cost us $75 for three of us with NO alcohol. That was just for one soup, one pie and peas and one steak sandwich. It was the worst meal I have had for a very long time. Overpriced, terrible food. I was not happy...More

I'd eaten at the Settlers Arms on many occasions in the 1980's and went back today for a bit of fun. Well the place is falling down from lack of maintenance and the food (Ploughman's Lunch)) was tiny and had very stale bread. A ploughman's...More

The family made the drive down the gravel road for lunch at this historic Pub. Its a good drive, great location and the pub is certainly old world, with outside rustic furniture, Folk music playing outside and friendly animals wandering round the gardens. Started with...More

When visiting st. Alban's you have to think about traveling back in time to a place where things were simplistic. It is an opportunity to see how these individuals dined and hung out with each other back in the day. it's a little bit of...More

Nice place. Good food. Cosy. A real estate with describe it as rustic charm. The bar area was perfect for a wintry afternoon with a log fire burning and a delicious hot pumpkin soup. The pies all looked great (regret not getting one). Quaint old...More

Recommend popping in for a drink and some food. There is a peacock that comes out now and again and a park in front of the pub for the kids.

We visited today & were left feeling very underwhelmed by the place. The food was really expensive & for the price of $27 for a plate of fish & chips you would expect it to have been a substantial amount but yet it was less...More

Description
Established in 1836, the Settlers Arm Inn is built from convict - hewn sandstone. Surrounded by mountains, it nestles alongside the Macdonald River within the tiny village of St. Albans, the heart of the Macdonald Valley, New South Wales. Of Georgian simplicity, the hotel became a stopover for Cobb and Co. stagecoaches traveling between Sydney and Newcastle in the nineteenth century. These days the inn is an alternative gateway to the Hunter Valley wine districts for visitors from the Central Coast as well as Sydney and its environs. Travelling time to St. Albans is approximately 1.5 hours by car from these areas. The Settlers Arms Inn is not only popular with day trippers but provides Accommodation comprising four doubles, all with en-suite. Australian Country - style cuisine is available seven day a week. Outdoor activities may involve tennis at the courts across the way, swimming and relaxing in our 12 metre saltwater pool, bike riding, golf at Wisemans Ferry, or just ambling along a country road. Entertainment is provided on Sundays in the rear garden with a jazz band, in the non-Summer months. Open fireplaces add warmth and atmosphere to dining and imbibing in the cooler months.
