This place is great. The food is so fresh and bursting with flavour. I definitely recommend the salad choices and choosing your protein. I felt light and healthy afterwards. The decor is modern and cafe sparkling clean. The staff were super friendly. Big shout out to Al - great with kids!

Awesome food and service

Ordered takeaway. Great coffee. Extensive menu with slight tweaks in the traditional in a good way. Open 7 days unlike most cafes in the St Leonards area. Great service. My new favourite cafe for brekky in St Leonards area

Perfect breakfast experience

I was staying in a local serviced apartment for business and using the Moody Chef daily for my breakfasts. The guy behind the counter not only remembered my coffee order from day one but greeted me by name each and every day thereafter. The atmosphere was friendly but professional and the food was great quality, fast and reasonably priced. On my final day they were only too happy to accommodate my request for ‘non menu’ breakfast. Well done guys, keep it up! And thanks for the pic Big Al.

Pacific Diner Suggest you find out what the locals already know yes it’s that good. Good healthy food, great salads and you won’t leave hungry like some salad bars. My local contacts clearly wanted this restaurant as there first choice now I know why

Amazing food, Amazing service

The food is alway cooked to perfection. The service is quick and everyone is so welcoming. I would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone. It is by far one of the best cafe in Sydney in my opinion. The coffee is fast and the menu is delicious and fresh.

I eat here quite a bit and the food is always high quality and the staff amazing. I have never in 16 years had a bad meal here. high quality always guaranteed! they keep the restaurant changing and interesting! Moody Chef is a credit to St Leonards!

An okay “vege bowl” & coffee $30!!!! Not much choice for a vegetarian. Far too expensive. Staff & management very friendly. Good coffee. Ok bowl.

The Moody Chef has become a regular breakfast, coffee break, lunch over the last two years whenever I visit St Leonard’s on business. Try the salad with kimchi, so delicious! Consistent good service, always reliable.

Great food - always come back!

Great food, generous portions and good service. I love the pasta, the burger and the bowls are always tasty. I’ve tried their dirty chai last time and it was delicious too!

I live across the road and am close to lots of excellent cafe options, but The Moody Chef is always reliable and excellent. The food is always divine and they do great coffee too.

I hosted a Birthday Party at my home and ordered two large salads for 16 people. They were absolutely delicious and everyone was very complimentary of both the presentation and the variety and freshness of everything in them. I picked them up on Saturday and they were still perfect for Sunday. Thanks George, made my day a breeze.

Great place for lunch or a break

We came across this restaurant by accident when we needed a quick lunch. We were delighted by the fresh attractive decor and impressed by the excellent service. We ordered a toasted sandwich cut in half to share and had it served on two separate plates with very attractive presentation. Used plates were removed discreetly and efficiently. The food was delicious and the service friendly. Highly recommended.

Healthy & delicious

I had lunch here and at first the menu was a bit overwhelming, my friend and I chose the bowl with the green tea noodles (sound weird) with grilled chicken. If only all healthy food tasted like this! Lost of greens, beans, asparagus + some others. Service was quick too as this was a lunch time visit. I would go here again definitely beats your usual lunchtime fare.

Best Saturday morning blues cure

I live on the street, and actually used to work here. I still try my hardest to go every week the experience is that good. Good coffee, and food that keeps me coming back. There are plenty of cafe's in the area, I promise you Moody's the one .

Best brunch in town!

The Moody Chef was a winner with my partner and I for brunch last weekend! Starting with the amazing service from our friendly waiter Al and owner George, to the fresh and delicious brekkie, coffee and cold-pressed juice we were served. The café had a great vibe and aesthetic. Will definitely be back again soon :)
