Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

These acai bowls are so good! You'll be hard pressed to find nicer ones in Sydney. Sometimes it's difficult to find seats here, but getting takeaway means that you can sit nearer the beach and away from the business of the cafe. The bowls can be quite pricey, but the flavour, location and overall experience are well worth it.

Wow, what a delicious lunch with a friend in Manly. The food was so fresh and tasty and there were so many choices it was really hard to decide what to get! Will definitely return to try more from the menu.

We had breakfast here and were not overly impressed. The food was fine, but felt like we were an imposition to the staff. There was an issue where 2 plates of the same food were ordered but only one was served. The response from the staff was 'well i only charged you for one'. While that may be true, the discrepancy was not picked up by us. Rather than apologize for the error we were asked if we were happy to share the one plate. We added some toast (charged $4 for a single piece) to bulk out the meal for 2 people, had to wait ages for this and then met with a huff when we requested butter to go with it. Now mistakes happen, but it is how you handle them that make all the difference. This mistake was handled badly, with no concern, no apology for the misorder and a total disregard for us as customers. It was such a striking difference to the service we had at the Three Beans cafe a couple of streets over.

Service painfully slow. I waited more than 20 mins for one smoothie and even that was only after asking what was happening. Another customer gave up and walked out. A shame as it’s really yummy wholesome food - just not enough blenders maybe and the staff just always move like they’ve been on too much “hemp”.

Really tasty and well presented açai and poke bowls. But we had to wait 30 minutes and the place was fairly quiet. Way too long. Wondering how they cope when it’s busy!

Seriously, the last 3 times I have tried to get an Açai bowl here I have been told it was a 25 minute wait. Today is a rainy Saturday and they did not even look that busy. They just don’t have enough staff and the staff they have are very slow. It seems to take them about 10 minutes to do one bowl. The tables are never cleared as they don’t have anyone to do it and they don’t have a dedicated person on the till so one of the staff making the bowls has to stop and take orders. You need to sort your game out.

Never been before but liked the look of the menu. Had a fruit bowl with lots of nice healthy ingredients. Tasted great. Staff were super helpful. There is a lack of table space however - the only downside but you can get takeaway and sit by the beach......

I have never been an açai kind of person, I never had many options in WA, but with out a doubt I could have one of these açai bowls every single day. They are high quality and the fruit it always fresh. I have tried out a few other around Manly and NOTHING compares to these ones. People complain about it being slow, but I think it’s a small price to pay for what you get and I personally have had no problem with the service or wait times. A bowl is $16 which is the standard price and I think that it is the best value for money in terms of açai. Some places make you pay that and you get half of what bare naked gives. I can’t fault this place, definitely worth the visit if you’re looking for the best açai in NSW.

Just a few tables, no space inside, our table was not swiped so all my phone was full of honey, the seats were uncomfortable (I didn’t get the aim of siting on an unstable hard piece of wood) and we had to wait a lot for our food and drinks. Seriously, the problem is not the food, everything is tasty, nice (a bit expensive but good). But when you’re able to cook good stuff please try also to provide a good experience! The staff brought us the food and cafes in like four different times, we couldn’t have everything at the same time and they had to ask us 2 times if we ordered something else each time they were bringing us our food... that’s unprofessional. I recommend take away if you don’t want a be disappointed by the low service quality. When the service is bad, even if the food is good the global experience get terrible...

I love this place. I’ve been here a few times now and have no been disappointed! It’s in a snug location, being in an ally in manly, but still manages to always be heaving! I would recommend that if it’s a nice day get your Acai bowl as a take away and eat it with a beach view as it’s only a minute away! They seem to have an expansive range of Acai bowl options, however out of the three different options I’ve had they are all very similar (I mean how can you really make an Acai bowl taste different) and the main difference being the toppings, so pick based off that. Large portions, so worth the money ($16 roughly) and surprisingly easy to polish off.

I ordered an acai bowl take away and it took them 40min to prepare it... that was a regular day during the week. I can imagine how long you have to wait on a weekend or during summer. The bowl was not bad but with all the other places in Manly that offer acai bowls, faster and tastier, I wouldn't go back to Bare Naked.

Sunny Saturday morning. Busy. Outside tables struggled to be cleared (just busy), so we shared them with pigeons. Paleo bowls - Our first go at this food style and we were a bit overwhelmed by the amount of puree compared to other ingredients (Novices - maybe?). Coffee was ok. I did notice people eating there, but bringing coffee from elsewhere. Concerns? - a lot of takeaway plastic bowls going out. I hope they can be recycled. Nuts? - daughter has a nut allergy, so probably should have avoided. We spoke about this when ordering, but her reaction showed there was some cross-contamination in her food. More our mistake probably. All up - ok for us, but I see others love it! Your call, just be informed.

Quaint, healthy, and a change from other breakfasts. Start your day with a protein packed bowl. Great choice and good service with a small seating area outside.

Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
