Food and service at the level expected for price and reputation. At times it was over serviced as we were asked multiple times the same questions. Prefer that to being ignored though. Shared entrees of Squid and Raviolo. Very nice, scampi a smaller size. Mains...were steak and prawns with chips and salad. All very nice (except chips, no crunch and could get them anywhere). I opted for the larger King prawn dish which had 6 prawns. As a rule there are 30 king prawns to a kilo, so I was expecting a couple more. They were very big. Plenty for me. Steak was beautifully cooked however a good portion was gristle. We thought this may have been cut off as you order the size. We had too much food but enjoyed it. We would go back but order less snd no chips. Wines were ok, nothing to rave about but I did opt for the lower price end.More

Fabulous meal and overall dining experience at Garfish Manly yesterday. Wonderfully friendly service and atmosphere. Reassuring Covid practices. Awesome fried oysters, Sri Lankan fish and king prawn curry, and fresh John Dory with delightful buttery mash.

We have tried other Garfish establishments elsewhere on the lower North Shore, but this was our first visit to the Manly one, and we found it difficult to fault. All our meals - seafood all round - were delicious and very well cooked. My grilled...monkfish was delightfully moist, and beautifully accompanied by the kipfler sauté, with peas, pumpkin, taleggio and pancetta. As good as the fish was I think I would have still been very happy if I had just been served a plate of the accompaniment. The stuffed zucchini flowers also drew rave reviews from my wife and daughter. The menu is diverse and interesting and, while we were very happy with our choices, we would have loved to try some of the other offerings. Next time. The servings are generous and overall the value for money was excellent. We also couldn't fault the service, and the whole experience was topped off by the view across Manly Cove at sunset. Sydney doesn't get better than this.More

Really love this place and the selection of seafood is always expertly prepared. However, I hope management takes note of this, but the chips/fries are substandard and should be an embarrassment for a restaurant of this standard! Please sort this out! It’s the second time...I’ve been this month and thought - wow everything was great - but seriously, those fries are awful.More

Thank you for your feedback we really appreciate it, I have discussed with the chefs and they will review the cooking of the chips to make sure they are up to the standard of the rest of your meal.

Upon arrival wowed by the lovely fresh decor, very Covid safe and greeted by very helpful staff. Started with the signature apple martini which was amazing. Entrees salt and pepper squid ( which was very disappointing. Obviously not cooked in hot enough oil and therefore gluggy...and floury😒) which came with a delicious sauce, and also had the Balmain soft tacos which were sensational. For mains we had the Sri Lankan fish curry which was delicious and full of complex flavours with the perfect amount of spice, sticky beef short rib which was yummy ( though a tad fatty ) with great mash and a side of miso eggplant which was a huge disappointment lacked any flavour except for the salty miso. So all in all the food was ok but not great which we were expecting considering it is an expensive lunch ( over $100 each incl drinks ). Not sure if I’ll be rushing back.........More

We like Garfish a lot. The food is consistently good and the menu maintains a happy balance between new items and popular signature dishes. It is always difficult to decide whether to go for something new and interesting or an old favourite (for me, that’s...the snapper pie). It's not a bad problem to have. One of the things that I really like about Garfish is that the daily blackboard menu lists all the different fresh fish available, the various cooking methods and a range of sides and salads which you mix and match. A nice extra touch is that there is now a small bar area just inside the front doors, called Sugarfish. We had a drink here while we waited for a table (although it would also be a perfect spot for meeting friends for a quick drink and a bite). If you are going for lunch, I would recommend ringing ahead and asking for a table with a view. Large windows look out across the harbour and on a sunny afternoon when the water is sparkling and the white boats are clustered in the bay, there are not many better spots for lunch. PARKING: Mid-week you may get parking on the street outside the restaurant like we did but on weekends, don't even try. There are a number of parking areas around Manly and probably the large council car park is the easiest place to park but you will have to walk back to the restaurant. By ferry, it is only a minute or two walk from the wharf.More

I was introduced to Garfish Manly ten years ago by dear Northern Beaches friends. Snapper Pie, a winter favourite. We have been going back ever since and have never been disappointed. The ambience is great and staff are so friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable...and I was delighted to enjoy lunch there this week after their COVID re-opening. This place is seriously good. And I don't hand out five star review too often.More

To celebrate a significant birthday, we had dinner at Garfish. From the time we walked in, we felt welcome and valued. Our waitress was attentive but unobtrusive. The mains (Salmon, Barramundi, Kingfish and Trout) were all cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. We ended our...meal with wonderful desserts (Sticky Date Pudding and New York Cheesecake). Definitely a meal to remember!More

We have dined at Garfish numerous times and have always enjoyed it. This time we were ecstatic to be able to dine out after the COVID lockdown. Our three course set menu was delicious and the service efficient and friendly.

There are a few parking stations in Manly including Whistler Street and some parking under Manly Wharf. Parking is not cheap and I’d recommend public transport for less stress.
