Long due review as we have been there a few weeks ago.. Let's start with the location: Absolutely Spectacular!!! The place is really nice and has an amazing view over the ocean and the harbor Being there at sunset was absolutely magical The whole venue is stunning, the decor, furniture and music match the absolutely perfect view. It's a gorgeous place to spend some time, have a drink and eat some food. Really beautiful Now to the food which was actually the real star of the night. We were 6 people and had the Antipasto Misto and The Antipasto di Pesce to share Everything was super fresh and very tasty. Crispy fish, tasty cured meats and cheeses, perfect pairing of flavors and textures. Really great food. As mains we ordered the Linguini with vongole e bottarga and the the bucatini broccolini e pecorino. Absolutely spectacular! And then the absolutely best Tiramisu that I have ever had in my life. So good that I will probably still dream about it on my death bed. We also shared 2 bottles of very nice wine and prosecco. The elegant venue, the spectacular view, the nice service plus the amazing food made our night absolutely magical.

Best view in Sydney. Spent a lovely afternoon here on the most spectacular summers day. The cocktails are a must try. My friend and I shared four starters instead of mains and they were all good. My only criticism is that we booked for 230pm and when the waiter came to take our food order he said something like “I’d recommend everything as the kitchen is closing” which was a bit rude/ strange and we felt pressured to hurry up. We also requested the cold starters followed by the hot ones and they all came out together. No big deal I guess. They were kind enough to let us move outside for drinks with the view after lunch, which was great. All in all a great venue, good food and drinks, would definitely recommend and be back as soon as possible.

Sunday after Easter, party of six with a booking. Shown to table, offered water. Then waited ten minutes before waitress came to take drinks order. We also ordered appetisers - bread and olives which came after another ten minutes, but the drinks did not. They arrived forty minutes after we placed our order. One glass of Prosecco took another ten minutes after that! Food average. My spicy chicken took the roof off my mouth. This is not a restaurant where one would expect extra spicy food. It was inedible. Other food just passable. We ordered a second bottle of wine which never came. So we cancelled it and left.

We had early drinks and bar menu on Friday, table of 6.. Getting staff to come to our table was nearly as hard as getting a smile from them. I’m all for throwing people a bone in times like these but our patience had worn pretty thin by the end of our meal. Food was good however it was just the bar menu as we moved on after that! I explained the experience to the bar person and he replied with i’m just the bar guy and turned away! Even when we paid with the manager he did not ask how we enjoyed our meal which is why i’m writing this... A suggestion would be to take a look at the camera that was above our table and use it as a training video... The food was fine but the dining was far from it!

Thank you visiting Manly Pavilion along with your review. As mentioned on arrival between 3pm - 6pm the venue only offers bar service/ menu. This is clients ordering and paying at the bar, hence the reason no staff approached the table. We welcome you to enjoy table service long with our full menu at either lunch or dinner.

Firstly this restaurant has changed hands and became part of the Boathouse group in early 2022. Previously this was an up market Italian restaurant with an excellent Maître de and staff and was a perfect location for dinner in Manly. We decided to give the new restaurant a try on Saturday night. The menu presents as small tapas like plates, bigger entrees, mains and then share mains for large groups. As it was just my husband and I we chose 4 tapas, entree dishes. In other restaurants we’ve been to (Sydney, Melbourne, around Europe) wait staff would normally ask in what order you’d like them brought, or they’d make a suggestion, or the kitchen would send them out how they think they would work best. Nope here they just brought all 4 at once. Cold Kingfish ceviche (covered in plantain chips!), cold crab toast (although you needed to use your imagination for toast because it was two thick slices of brioche bread with the crab sandwiched between and cold. The other 2 dishes were a ravioli hot but under cooked, and a panko pork bun. With all 4 served at once we were forced To eat the hot plates first, finishing with the cold. The staff (of which there were plenty), were nearly all inexperienced teens and to be fair to them they were in desperate need of a manager, and training but not on a Saturday night. At a table near us one waitress was training another how to open a bottle with a cork at the table of diners. They have a great location for a beautiful restaurant to compete with Hugo’s or Garfish but it’s let down by average food, and junior staff with comments like “how’s your day been, too easy, awesome, if you want some more of your wine just tell the waitress. If I order a bottle of wine for $78 I’d expect the waitress to know when to top up our glasses. We think the restaurant has potential but management really need to step up if they want this restaurant to survive.

Want to make a booking? Leave your credit card details and if you don't cancel within 24 hours of your booking or don't show up then they charge you $60 per head. I might get their credit card details and if I don't like their food, wine or service then I'll charge them $60 per head. That's fair enough don't you think?

Hi Damieon, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. As your well aware unfortunately COVID has affected the hospitality industry with limited capacity. You'll find that venues requesting for a credit card guarantee is now common practice. Its extremely difficult to rebook a table with 24 hrs or less notice hence the $50pp (not $60pp as you mentioned) charge. You'll also find the venue Terms must be accepted prior to making your reservation with your credit card details. Thanks for your understanding.

We went to this establishment in a group of fifteen at Easter and we were very disappointed with the overall visit. The floor staff were generally okay and were coping with a full house of customers. The set menu food was on a group shared basis and this was the beginning of the disappointing dining experience. The food was served haphazardly however the entrees were satisfactory in taste and presentation. The mains ( whole Snapper fish and rib-eye steak ) were not up to standard with the steak particularly undercooked, tough and not tasty at all. The fish, very bland , came out some time later with all of the sides coming out later again. Very disappointing. Based on this dining experience, I would hesitate in going back.

The view was just the beginning. Stunning outlook only enhanced by the attentive wait staff. Not once did we have to refill our own glasses. The food was perfect, the scotch fillet was melt in the mouth and dessert unbelievably delicious. Highly recommend, we’ll definitely be back.

Dinner on a Tuesday night. We ordered the house bread and hummus to share and then I had the Bavette steak, and my partner had the Pork Milanese. The steak came with tomatoes, the pork on its own so we also had chargrilled broccolini and roast potatoes. We each had a glass of Craggy Range merlot and between us a bottle of still water, we were not offered tap water, which we would have had as it's perfectly fine. The total bill was $188. The flank steak (Bavette) was ok, I had it medium rare. The accompanying tomatoes where a bit overpowering. My partner's pork was dry and over cooked. The servings of roast potatoes and chargrilled broccolini were good but larger then needed. They could have been half the size and commensurately lower in price. The same could be said for the serving of hummus, the house bread was good but was well and truly gone with half the hummus remaining. The Craggy Range was a nice choice for us. Overall, the service was good. The below average score arises based on value versus quality and the Manly Pavillion can't be recommended if you are cost concious.

Prompt service of drinks, entree and mains. All drinks and meals and service of such was friendly, professional and timely. Head waiter very attentive and moved us from a quiet three table setting without a beach view to offering us a beach view on waterfront as soon as the table was available. We then moved to the beachfront view after entree and thanked the head waiter for thinking of us. The atmosphere is lovely after sunset and you can take in the night lights and listening to the waves.

Took advantage of the lunch time meal special & sunny weather to dine at this iconic venue in Manly. Requested a table with a view & actually got it! Service was excellent from the get go & great meal options to choose from on the lunch time menu. The restaurant was busy but we could easily talk & be heard which doesn’t happen often these days. Would definitely re-visit.

I came with three friends to have a special celebration lunch. Whilst the decor and views are stunning, the service was very mediocre. However, the food was unbelievably disappointing. After many years of living in Sydney, this would have to rate as one of the worst meals that I’ve had in recent years. The portion size was small, the linguine was over cooked, there was hardly any seafood – one Balmain bug to be exact - and the coffee was undrinkable. The desserts though were delicious. We were all really upset with our experience and we found the prices to be very expensive, particularly for the dreadful main courses and coffee. There are many excellent restaurants in Manly and I would never choose to come back to this one.

I have dined at Manly Pavilion 3 times since it opened and each time I enjoy more and more. I have read all the comments and agree, staff are inexperienced, but like MANY hospitality establishments there is a severe lack of trained staff. My last time, our waitress went above and beyond. I will support and frequent Manly Pavilion as I am confident in time staff will have had time to be trained.

Lovely view, delicious food and good service even though it was pretty busy on a Thursday evening. Our waiter very kindly found us a special bottle of Ata Rangi Sauvignon Blanc from the Martinborough NZ region, which wasn't on the Wine List. The Wine List leaves a lot to be desired for such a good restaurant. The white wines feature 3 Rieslings, 6 Chardonnays and only 2 Sauvignon Blancs, neither of which are from the premier sauvignon blanc region of Marlborough NZ. The Pinot Noirs are the same - 2 are from Victoria and 2 from the Derwent Valley TAS with not a single bottle sourced from the premier Central Otago region. Very strange and disappointing. I think a real shame because it's so easy to present a concise quality wine list - it's good food that is the hardest to get right.

We had the lunch special 2 courses for $45! Our choice was the Pork belly and yummy things followed by classic fish and chips. It was spectacular not one chip was left. I won’t be eating until at least tomorrow. Excellent value, beautiful venue, fabulous service.

A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
