Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It has been a long time since i enjoyed a breakfast this much... there were quite a few items on the menu which were unique and decided to go for their salmon brunch and it was simply sensational. The flavours worked perfectly and the variety really made it a unique tasting experience. We also ended up buying some of their pastries as a takeaway snack and they were just as good... what a place

A little bit off the main strip but worth the effort. The herring and egg open sandwich had great flavours and texture and the rosti with kale was lovely, with chilli and garlic - very different. Efficient friendly service and reasonable prices. Recommended.

We stopped in here to get some groceries for a Swedish friend and she was happy with the selection, although note some items are cheaper at IKEA (but Fika has a bigger range). We had hot chocolates Swedish style that were yummy. We cam back on Sunday to get some herring as we didn't have a cold bag and there was a surcharge even on the grocery items! That is not good so one star removed.

I used to love going here for mochas/hot chocolates as they are made with melted chocolate. Went for a take away mocha today, there was a long wait (which was fine). When I got my coffee (in my keep cup which keeps drinks warm) I cycled a bit further to drink my coffee on the harbour but it was luke warm (can’t really even call it warm) so very disappointed. Didn’t go back due to the long wait but you would expect a coffee to be warm (I’m not talking about hot) at least. As a coffee is $6 it was rather disappointing.

Walked into Fika, a longstanding local spot we've frequented for years. Truly disappointed in the attitude and customer service of the staff. Despite the rain, we were more than happy to wait for a table. After a 15-minute wait, we received no service, observing staff behavior – one was texting, and despite waving down the other, we were ignored. When we finally got someone's attention and explained our situation, including the woman who ignored us, the apology was laughable. After today, I doubt I'll set foot in this place again. Fika, please address your staff's attitude. When the holiday rush subsides, loyal locals like us support businesses like yours. Your staff today need customer service etiquette, especially the lady who blatantly ignored us – even other customers standing by the door commented on her behavior.

This place has great Swedish food. The rye bread is outstanding. The ingredients are fresh and the service is friendly and polite. Nothing is too much trouble. High recommend for healthy Swedish food and also there are plenty of options without herring!

I wouldn’t order from them online- 2 months later and I still haven’t received my order. I purchased items in October for Christmas and when I reached out to the manager about it I have received very little information and the manager has now stopped communicating to me and no attempts have been made by the company to rectify the situation.

This place, where we've been many times before, has, sadly, lost its charm. Ordered coffee and two brunch dishes Sunday mid-morning. We were quite relaxed about a longish wait time, and after about 35 mins our food did appear, but no coffee. Queried this, and told there were 'a lot of coffee orders', we finished our food, waited some more, still no coffee. Went inside to enquire, and discovered that our order had apparently got lost. Another 15 minutes went by and two coffees finally arrived. We decided to order a sweet bun to share, to have with the coffees since our meals were long finished. It would have been a nice gesture for FIKA to have offered us the bun as complimentary, to compensate for our nearly 50 minute wait for our coffee, but instead they overcharged by 15% on the price shown in the display cabinet, saying 'the price went up yesterday'. We can forgive errors in the kitchen, these things happen, but the apparent lack of concern, and the 'take-it-or-leave-it' attitude left us feeling we would not bother coming here again.

Fika was a pleasant enough place for coffee and cake in the back streets of Manly. Pastries were average and coffee about th same.

Always love visiting Fika, friendly staff and great food. I had the salmon lover and chose freshly baked Kavring bread with a lemon tea it was lovely. Eggs perfectly cooked, smoked salmon very nice and loved the bread so good. The only comment would have to be the ordering app instead of ordering from staff. It can be difficult if you have friends with allergies as there are no notes sections for nuts allergies etc but we told the staff and they told the kitchen straight away. Always a pleasure.

Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
