The $25 lunch special (choice of certain entrees as well as beer, wine or soda) caught our attention on a recent visit to the beach. We both had the grilled barrumundi which was served with a small salad and sweet potato fries. The fish was a very generous portion and tasted great. In addition my husband was pleased to see that he received a Corona as opposed to a draft beer. After the meal we decided to try one of the home-made desserts in the display case. Oh my gosh.... the raspberry, brownie cheesecake was AMAZING and it cost less than $6. The staff was very friendly and out of all the places we could have stopped for lunch I’m so glad we chose Bluewater.

Not at all coeliac friendly. Only two items on breakfast menu had a gf symbol. I ordered one of them and stated that it needs to be gluten free. When they arrived to the table I asked which was the gluten free one and was then told that the dish was not gluten free at all, even though it states gf on the menu and I had requested it to be gluten free. They were very quick to help me find a safe alternative and did not charge me for two meals. The beetroot, celery and apple juice was delicious.

We went for afternoon cocktails and snacks on the first day. Cheap easy eats to go with a cocktail staved off the hunger. Buffalo wings had bite, but still kid friendly. They also do kid size drinks for a very reasonable price. We went back for brunch the next morning. Good size servings of healthy fresh food and again the staff could not do enough to accommodate our requests. The kids breakfast was just the right size with healthy options, even though my kids did not pick these. I had the breakfast bruschetta. The avocado smooshed onto the toast was fresh and flavoursome. Being after 10am we could even have a pina colada with breakfast which is something we never do. But being a relaxed holiday we relished in this fact. Will be a staple place to visit everytime we come to visit Manly.

We had a $50 restaurant choice voucher to use and this was one of the eligible restaurants to use it at as listed on the website. They were hesitant at first as to whether we could use it but eventually said we could. My partner ordered the steak, it came with 3 completely cold carrots and asparagus, and 3 little potato patties that looked like and tasted like they had been fried 3 days ago and reheated in the microwave. I ordered a pizza for $25 but it tasted worse than a $5 one from coles which I probably would have preferred. Nobody came to see how our meal was going until we had been sitting there with our half eaten food for a while when they offered to take it away. Eventually we were given the bill and again nobody came to pick up the bill so we waited until we were fed up and walked to the counter ourselves.

Service was very slow from the start. It was eventually delivered after about 40 mins, no cutlery, dirty glass for drink. Food very average, pork burger small for the price ($25 with a corona beer of all beers), pizza was like a supermarket one, small for the price, hardly any pepperoni. Hair in side order of chips, replaced after complaining but didn’t even bother to take away old chips. So gross. Bill was $105 for 4 - really not worth it. Way over priced. Never going back. I’m a local, not a tourist.

We live within a 2 minute walk of this restaurant. We hadn't eaten there for about 2 years because of the poor service and average food, but friends made a booking. We waited over 30 minutes for a waitress to take our order, despite asking a number of times. We were given lukewarm water to drink and it wasn't refilled once for 8 people. The food was well below average, but the portion sizes were ridiculously small. $25 for penne arrabiata - about 10 spoonfuls and it was gone. Another friend had lamb and halloumi salad - with one sad piece of halloumi!!!! This cafe only survives through the tourist trade and I doubt any locals would throw their money away there. We will not be back again. Dreadful service, lazy staff - stay away. There are so many better places in Manly.

This morning I ate at this cafe with 2 friends as I had a 25 % off voucher to use from the Entertainment Book. Firstly we waited 30 minutes for our coffee to arrive, reminding them twice. We then had to ask for someone to come to our table so we could order our breakfast after sitting for 40 minutes with no attention. When we went to pay our bill the owner said ‘we do not take vouchers on a weekend’, when it clearly states on the voucher ‘valid at anytime’. When I queried this with her she replied that she was a new owner and in fact was not taking any vouchers anytime, especially on a weekend when she had to pay extra staff. She should understand that this not my problem and in fact customers are charged an extra 1O% on a weekend to cover this.

It was great news to hear that Bluewater Cafe is under new management and it is so obvious when you eat there. The location is totally "iconic Manly" as always but the new management has done an absolutely wonderful job. The food and service is now top notch. There were four of us for lunch and each course was faultless. In particular, the garlic prawns were sensational. The fish pie was extremely tasty and the barramundi was delicious. The staff can't do enough ensure you have enjoy your visit. We had an elderly guest with us who has back issues and Hector (who I have to point as he was just wonderful), couldn't do enough to make sure she was comfortable. We are locals but our guests were from out of town and they haven't stopped raving about what a great lunch we had. We will be back soon Hector. You and your staff are fantastic.

Having recently moved to Manly I have found a real treasure on the beach front that I go to for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Staff are always so friendly and helpful whether I want to sit outside with my dog or inside with my friends. My go to meals include morning bruschetta, sweet potato corn fritters and potato rosti. I love to take my family here when they visit because all the options means there is something for everyone. Highly recommended!

Service is efficient with very friendly and attentive wait staff. We ordered the fish pie (salmon & barrumundi) without high expectations, but boy it was delicious and served with a salad as well. We used our NSW dine vouchers and this cafe offered a few specials which included beer, wine, coffee tea or soft drink with the meal to make up to the $25 voucher, a lovely idea and very much appreciated. Cafe is very clean and run exceptionally well, so we had a lovely experience and will go back first chance we get.

Outstanding. We called in at lunchtime and my wife sampled the carrot cake. She is an expert on this topic having sampled it all over the world. She stated this was the best that she had ever had and it was home made. Clacking little place with new owners in place for only 3 months.

The two of us were seated and an order was taken for breakfast. Our drinks took a long time to be delivered and we had to ask for them again, but our meals turned up before the coffee and orange juice. My meal of Avocado, poached egg and feta was overpowered by the overwhelming taste of lemon juice on the avocado. The toast was soggy and the egg almost hard. A really awful meal. Hubby had a bacon and egg roll, not great either, and was very short on the bacon. Very overpriced for the quality of food offered.

I first went to the Bluewater Cafe in 2018 and had such a lovely lunch that I was keen to go back on this trip to Australia. My son and I had done the Spit to Manly walk and so we were starving by the end of it!! We both had the fish and chips which was fabulous. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. There is always a lovely vibe. I will always go there for lunch on my trips.

Bluewater has a focus on fresh high quality ingredients that are home cooked and beautifully presented. The dishes that were always great are even better! The recent addition of the Vietnamese winter specials is brilliant as these dishes are superb. If you like Pho this is a must visit.

Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
