A fun idea to introduce a beer called Rockin' Rudolph for the festive season - not so much fun when it costs £3.80 per pint!

Great all round performance here. Good bar service . Star of show was a very young waitress who had a spring in her step and was polite efficient and helpful. Food was great.

This pub is in the village of Magor, Wales, picturesque village, parking in rear but normally must searh for nearby parking, no big deal. Food was very good and menu selection was good, bar staff and wait staff attentive and friendly. Pub was clean and good atmosphere, no dogs leading to cleanliness and no smelly dog aroma in air as... Fantastic early bird special. The children loved their £4.50 special which included lasagne, fluffy mash, baked beans followed by ice cream and sauce. They thoroughly enjoyed it. We enjoyed a fab 2 (husband had 3 courses!) meal. Great, price, lovely meal, and fast waitress service to get the drinks. Highly recommend it. Kids want to come back next week (too... More

Really enjoyable evening dinner. Busy on a Saturday night so do book a table. Great value early bird menu before 7pm for 2-3 courses. Tasty and well cooked and presented meals in a cosy old style local pub. Definitely recommend. Also good selection of ales and friendly staff/locals.

We haven't eaten in here in about a year; previously always had a good experience. They used to do a breakfast that was to die for. Tried it again for a family birthday and can't say we will be repeating the experience any time soon. My wife and kids were fine but I made the mistake of ordering the battered... More

Sorry you didn't enjoy your meal. After much thought and consultation we decided to change our fish to a quality 6oz cod loin of about 11/2 inches thick all the way. Clearly bigger than your thumb unless yours is oversized!! We have decided on quality rather than quantity that has gone down very well with most customers. Glad your wife... More

Lunctime visit after walking the Newport Wetlands with our dogs. Staff friendly and helpful, dogs were allowed in the bar or in the garden. Garden has two tables that are undercover, which turned out to be a good choice to sit there as it poured down just before finishing our meals.

We visited for a late lunch mid week. Good value 2 courses for £11pp friendly service, highly recommend the hand made beef burger. Will definitely go again.
