We prebooked via internet and the booking was followed up with a call to check we were still planning to attend. We went after a walk at Newborough beach where we had seen a banner advertising the cafe saying dogs were welcome. When we arrived we were told dogs are no longer allowed, but the waiter kindly let us sneak... More

Visited on a blustery Thursday evening in February to find ourselves sharing the restaurant with just one other couple. Still a very cosy atmosphere, friendly welcome and super menu. I had the scallops to start and pheasant for my main. Adventurous cooking, with loads of flavours and super presentation. The orange frozen yogurt dessert was amazing! Definitely one of the... More

This was the first time that we have been to the Marram Grass Cafe but as a previous traveller mentioned, we will certainly be returning. This excellent restaurant caters perfectly for the environment where walkers, or bird watchers may visit. There are tables outside, undercover,so dog walkers are also welcome. The food is excellent. Fresh local ingredients highlight the menu. Welsh... More

First time of visiting, certainly not the last. Everything was fantastic. The atmosphere, the informality, the front of house staff were knowledgeable, polite and we'll informed. Service second to none. We had celeriac soup, followed by the hake special and then lemon tart. Stunning!!

Title says it all - we love the Marram Grass and always enjoy. Liam, front of house owner is professional but always relaxed and humorous. Brother Ellis is magic in the kitchen.

Liam and Elliott had prepare a evening to celebrate the night for Welsh Lovers, without a doubt one of the best meals we have had and would doubt if the food and service could be bettered by any Michelin stared restaurant yet the Marram Grass still retains its same atmosphere which makes it what it is.

Newborough is not exactly the centre of the universe, so a trip there from the other end of the island, where our holiday cottage is located, is a wee bit of an expedition. It most certainly was a serious outing for two of our guests who had travelled all the way from the Charente in south west France! If you... More

Description
We started The Marram Grass because we believed we could create a place that offers good, creative food using local produce and seafood, all within an informal setting.

On Anglesey we are surrounded by beautiful produce, fresh fish and shellfish and it is not lost on our team of chefs. We work hard to keep our menu moving and we change them regularly to best accommodate the fresh and seasonal produce that comes in through our door.

In our low-key setting we have create an inviting and relaxed atmosphere without taking any shortcuts on quality. We have a full, purposeful wine list and a selection of local beers, as well as a good selection of some the the worlds Gins.

We offer small portions of our menu for children and are happy to accommodate, well behaved dogs as long as they sit under the table.

We want you to eat with us, we enjoy our job hosting and cooking so come on over and try us out. See you soon, The Marram Grass Team x
