Having read good reviews of George III we decided to have dinner with friends. Being in Wales, I was looking forward to Lamb. All they had was a lamb shank that tasted boiled with gravy thrown on top. The menu is massive - I wish they would reduce it, and have a few dishes that they do very well. The... More

Quite cosy and I suspec has good views over the estuary, but it was dark. I am sure that the starters and pudding would have been excellent but we didn't have any, the main course was fine, reasonable value. I would go again if it was nearby, it's not so I won't. It was our second visit the first time... More

Really enjoyed a cosy seat by the fire and a lovely meal in a welcoming traditional hotel/pub. Lovely spot right next to the toll bridge with views across the estuary to Aberdovey.

We had dinner here whilst staying at the hotel. Great choice of food. I had lamb shank which was beautiful and they changed the potatoes on the menu for dauphinoise potatoes which are my fave! The lady serving was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She recommended the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream that was amazing!! Would definitely go... More

On the banks of the Mawddach, this pub has an enviable, picturesque position by the old wooden toll bridge and the former railway line from Dolgellau to Barmouth, now a wonderful 10 mile walk. Our dog was allowed in the bar, which was good, but it took a fair time for anyone to appear to take our order. 3.5 pints,... More

We happened upon this place by chance whilst on a 2 day mini break in mid Wales, and we stopped off just for a snack and a drink at lunchtime. The hotel is situated at the head of the Mawddach Estuary and the views were stunning, although it did help that the day was bright and sunny and warm enough... More

I've never been made to feel more unwelcome! It was almost comedy just how rude and off hand the bar man was. Actually both of them who served me were awful. Rude, unfriendly and seemed genuinely put out at my presence. I did think about staying for lunch but their bad attitude and their 2 star hygiene rating put me... More

Went here with my partner during a half term lunch time. Wanted to sit in the conservatory section which we were told by a very stern gentleman was locked so found a table in a corner. Very over priced drinks, £3.80 for a pint of coke! Food bill for 2 baguettes and a bowl of chips came to over £17,... More
