Having visited here with friends for a celebratory meal three years ago (and returned two further times that same week) we decided, on finding ourselves back in the area again, to reacquaint ourselves with what we had felt to be a gem of a pub serving good, local food, in the heart of Wales. How wrong could we be? Whilst... More

We had dinner here on the recommendation of Claire at the Henllys Estate B&B and were happy we took her advice. They're located in a tiny town which seems well removed from everything, so it was a nice surprise to find this pub. I had one of the specials and my mother ordered the lamb. The service was friendly and... More

Pub very rustic and charming with several rooms to have food and drinks in, we stopped for lunch which we booked prior to the journey. Lovely welcome from I am assuming the family members and once in the bar we were met by the landlord. Shown to our table and we were informed of specials and standard menu, there was... More

Went here one evening when stopping at a local B&B. Nothing special, average pub food, seemed popular with the locals.

We booked a table at the pub as a group of us were staying nearby for a friends birthday. For a Saturday night there were only 2 other people in the pub. The person serving us was friendly but when asked questions about the food had to go and ask the questions to the kitchen in terms of what was... More

Would have loved to visit this restaurant, in fact, set off to walk the 0.8kms from Llandovery - alas, after walking about a mile, there was no restaurant in sight. We called them up, only to be told the restaurant was infact 4.5 MILES from Llandovery. Come on Tripadvisor - get your advice right in future. I have rated the... More

we called in on the off chance to find a warm welcome and a warmer log burner!, the menu was extensive enough, the waitress was attentive and polite, and the food was produced quickly, with generous portions. A good meal with a nice wine and traditional ales, we would recommend a visit.

We have been here a few times when we stay in a cottage across the road. It's a great little proper Welsh pub. Cosy and inviting with very friendly locals. Great selection of ales and even a good wine list for a small out of town pub. Great to accompany dinner which we also enjoyed. It's more pub grub fare... More

Staying in the house directly opposite and a mere 10 paces from door to door, I was absolutely delighted that the Neuadd Fawr Arms was so nice. A warm welcome and a warm, cosy bar, the wood burner was roaring and the ales tasty, and I can recommend a few pints of Doom Bar. Having arrived on Saturday afternoon, we... More
