We were walking on Beale Street before our Sun Record Tour and a man approached us as we passed this restaurant. He put a lunch menu in front of us with great deals for lunch, so we took a chance and went in. Hanging from the ceiling were lots of guitars, most of them autographed by famous musicians. This added... More

Rum Boogie is one of my first stops every time I'm on Beale Street. Having 2 separate stages makes it great to bounce between acts and break times. Their drink rates are absolutely reasonable compared to the rest of Beale Street.

After checking out several places along Beale Street we chose Rum Boogie Café for the music we were hearing from outside. Kind of a tight place for seating due to the crowd, but we got settled at a table near the back but with a good view of the stage and band. Food was so-so but not bad and reasonably... More

Got inside during the afternoon and had some terrific gumbo (and assorted other delicacies) before the music started, Loved the food, service and the music was great as well. Gumbo and great blues music-hard to beat.

Having enjoyed 3 hours at B B King Blues Club we decided to try a different club. Rum Boogie wasn't it. After a $3 cover we ordered a drink and set to enjoy some more music. What were they playing?... or, maybe they were practicing. After 3 songs our party decided no one could identify their style other than amateur.... More

We stopped in for just mid-afternoon appetizers and a drink, but really enjoyed the wings and fried pickles. I wish we'd stayed for dinner but hubby was craving BEEF ribs (could not find them anywhere). Loved looking at the signed guitars and chatting with the staff. Music was great too (well, duh.)

Two friends and I were visiting Memphis for a conference and ate here twice during our three days! Amazing food, tasty drinks, and even better music! We came once for an early dinner and the next night for late dinner. The atmosphere is super relaxed and really fun and the staff is incredibly friendly and nice. We can't wait to... More

Just stopped in for drinks, but had a great window seat to watch the busyness on Beale Street. Did not order food so can't comment. Will say however that the drinks are measured SMALL.

This is a "must do" when you visit Beale Street in Memphis. The collection of guitars from star musicians is awesome. It's a fun atmosphere and the rum drinks are great!
