Just a good time place. Don't miss Salmon Croquet Friday. Tamales are awesome. Oysters are really good. We love sitting at the bar. Reminds you of Cheers. There are no strangers.

Mortimer's is a lot like an old fashioned neighborhood restaurant. Mostly the same people each time you go. The people that don't go are missing out on a variety of really good food.

I'll start by saying something positive - the onion rings were good. From there - downhill. Lunched with three other people. I figured a hamburger would be hard to do wrong. *I* was wrong. I ordered a simple 'well done no pink' hamburger with Jack cheese. When I cut it - yep - it was PINK. AND had Swiss cheese.... More

Husband and I celebrated his birthday here. Had a dozen oysters to start....he had fried grouper and I had the prime rib. Very good salad and rolls. Will definitely go back!

When ever we are in Memphis we have to Stop at Mortimer's for Lunch or Dinner. The Oysters are a bonus when we eat there. There isn't many things on the Menu that we haven't had in the last 15 years. So I have to say there isn't anything that is better than the other. Oysters are my draw to... More

Our group went to Mortimer's recently for some great food - and we got it. I have enjoyed the Mort Burger in the past, but decided to go with the Stuffed Burger this time. The burger I received was quite good, but it was not "stuffed" (it had Gouda cheese, but the burger had 2 separate patties instead of the... More

Location:: almost hidden Signage:: hard to see 70's style contemporary building that blends in with the neighborhood Mortimer's predecessor, The Knickerbocker, a 1955 institution owned by Vernon Bell, was the original men's-sports-club-without-a-fee. He helped his daughter Sara establish Mortimer's in 1981, using many of the same recipes. When I visit, I:: Always request my fave Server Landon Always warm up... More

French onion soup is smokey, rich, oniony, and cheesy; with home made croutons with the right touch of butter and garlic. Then came the salmon with dill sauce and a loaded baked potato. Wow! The salmon is always great and the loaded baked potato had more fixings then any other restaurant. With the bartender and m&ms from the beer cooler... More

Mortimer's has been a Memphis staple for many years. The atmosphere is casual with an upscale feel. It's a quiet place where you can enjoy talking with your party. The menu is extensive and the food is well above average. It's well worth a visit.

My husband and I went to Mortimer's with another couple last Saturday night, June 4th. My husband and I each got a dozen raw oysters (two dozen). They were very small just as they were the last time we went to Mortimer's a couple of months ago. We should have learned our lesson that time. My husband and I both... More
