A present and diverse menu served under large hairdryers and other beauty shop accoutrements. Service was friendly, and the food choice was pleasant, and the meal was enjoyable.

Our food and service was great, but what makes this place amazing is the retro salon setting! It is just too fun! I will definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Memphis! Oh good wine list too! We also liked that when we were done with our meal we could take our drinks to the adjacent bar next door... More

Fun unstuffy atmosphere. We were a party of 10, and had a variety of cocktails, appetizers and dinner. Creative appetizer menu. I had chipotle lamb chops which were not overly spicy but nicely prepared and presented, med rare as I'd requested. My friends all enjoyed their entrees too. Service was very attentive. There is parking lot, though I ended up... More

Food and service is excellent. But be sure to get a reservation, I am not sure we would have gotten in without one.

We went here for lunch to see where Priscilla Presley had her hair done. The food was good and fresh, the service friendly. The decor is quirky, with good hair dryers and hair wash sinks. The chairs and tables could use an upgrade. Really nice cocktails!

I know this place was popular, but I was not impressed. I had lunch at the Beauty Shop. I ordered the Pork Loin Wrap. Don't get that. It was very boring. Leftovers in a tortilla. My husband has a steak sandwich. It was ok. It was busy which is why the waiter was probably slow but oh my. Took forever... More

This place is soo cute! Some of the old fixtures are still here-- sinks behind the bar and certain tables have beauty shop chairs!! We got a table with a beauty shop chair and I was soo excited!! I love that Priscilla Presley would get her hair done here and that was the main allure for us, as me and... More

A former Beauty and Barber Shop, the Beauty Shop restaurant serves up some very good food. Enjoyed dinner here tonight with cocktails and dessert. The Barbeque Salad was tasty with some different nuances. The seafood (Oysters with a Panko breading and Blackberry Salsa) were very tasty. The Shrimp dish was perfect served with avocado and greens. You need to save... More

We loved this restaurant. Please note that you should definitely make reservations. This place is packed and it's packed for a reason. It is fabulous. We decided to go for Sunday Brunch. We knew this place would be super cool and it really was. It was where Pricilla Presley would come to do her hair. She came here for her... More

A former beauty salon turned into a funky hip restaurant. Was well worth the trip to find it. Never expected to find a place like this in Memphis. Very cool to see. The decor is retro and very neat - incorporating old hair dryers - and stylish accents from yesteryear. The drinks were good and so was the food. Friendly... More

Established in 2002. "Look Good. Eat Good." are the words emblazoned on the front windows at the Beauty Shop. This hip and trendy restaurant in the Cooper-Young district of midtown Memphis does both, as it conjures up images of a '50s-style beauty shop, formerly Priscilla Presley's curl-and-dye spot. It's a camp wonderland where the façade is Jetsons-era Vitrolite, and choice seating is offered beneath hooded Belvedere hair dryers. Nostalgia is served with a sense of humor here. The beauty shop flashback comes complete with original mint green wash basins filling in as sinks behind the hand built bar, made of tiger maple wood. The terrazzo floor is original. Glass brick stalls serve as intimate booths. Mixed with the retro renderings are modern touches such as hand-blown art-glass lights, and glamorous copper and silver-leaf walls. At this offbeat restaurant, the décor pays homage to the space's beauty parlor past, while the food offers flavors from around the globe.
