We loved EVERYTHING about this place! This is where Priscilla Presley apparently got her hair done when she lived in Memphis, and I'm not sure it's changed much since then! Lots of beauty shop touches - hair washing sinks behind the bar, fixed stand hair...More

Located in an old beauty shop, complete with the glass cube dividers between the stalls (now used for tables) and one functioning hair dryer from years past. Parking close by, seemed adequate. Our server was delightful - great personality, engaging, and knew the menu flawlessly....More

I’m in love with the cauliflower appetizer! Their version of the skordalia dip was very flavorful with the cauliflower. The decor and old fashioned hair dryers were a neat touch. Good service. Waitresses were very helpful. Drinks were good. Would love to go back if...More

Traveled to Memphis and saw this restaurant on line with great reviews. What a gem! The inside decor is styled from beauty shop furniture including hair dryer chairs and leaning back chairs like the ones used for washing hair. So cool! Wait staff were professional,...More

We welcome kids! We do not have a separate children's menu, but we have several items on each of our menu that suit pickier eaters, and more adventurous eaters will find plenty of foods they'll enjoy.

Established in 2002. "Look Good. Eat Good." are the words emblazoned on the front windows at the Beauty Shop. This hip and trendy restaurant in the Cooper-Young district of midtown Memphis does both, as it conjures up images of a '50s-style beauty shop, formerly Priscilla Presley's curl-and-dye spot. It's a camp wonderland where the façade is Jetsons-era Vitrolite, and choice seating is offered beneath hooded Belvedere hair dryers. Nostalgia is served with a sense of humor here. The beauty shop flashback comes complete with original mint green wash basins filling in as sinks behind the hand built bar, made of tiger maple wood. The terrazzo floor is original. Glass brick stalls serve as intimate booths. Mixed with the retro renderings are modern touches such as hand-blown art-glass lights, and glamorous copper and silver-leaf walls. At this offbeat restaurant, the décor pays homage to the space's beauty parlor past, while the food offers flavors from around the globe.
