The restaurant in on the trolley line and near some of the Memphis attractions. Also, it's in "The SOUTH MAIN ARTS DISTRICT" which is an attraction unto itself. Not only was the food tasty and reasonable, bu the staff is great.

Authentic German cuisine in a beautifully, restored historical building. The service is excellent and the hot potato salad is something you just shouldn't miss! You'll be hooked!

Nice place in downtown Memphis. We went before the theater. Good German food with friendly service. Much less crowed compared to Beale Street. Good value.

We just stopped in for a glass of wine. Got a generous pour of Chardonnay so naturally I give the place good reviews!

We went to take advantage of the special rates for the downtown dining week. We all love German food. We arrived early on a Friday and they were out of sauerbraten which is the reason we went. The offered sausage and potatoes and chicken and pasta as substitutes. I got sausage. or should I say I got ten quarter (size... More

Nice little venue in the Memphis South Main area near Civil Rights Museum. This area is undergoing a revival and we were there the weekend of the River Arts Festival. We enjoyed a drink and the beautiful bar area and listened to the awesome musician, Evan Farris, providing live music. We also spent some time sitting at the outdoor tables... More

We ordered the sausages with sauerkraut which was very tasty. The sauerbraten was another story. While we know sauerbraten is a german pot roast which is marinated in vinegar this dish did not have the tartness of vinegar which is more usual instead was more like a pulled beef then a slice of pot roast. The entree was very tender... More

We stumbled upon this place and I was very hesitant. After my husband insisted we went in and to our surprise there was a piano player and singer there on a Saturday afternoon around 1:00pm. Could not believe this, unsure of what to order, I played it safe with a chicken salad which was very good, my husband had the... More

The service was terrible! Yes, it was a Friday night and yes it was Trolley Art Tour night but they should be used to that. Our server was however very pleasant and apologetic. The food was sub par to me. Sauerkraut from a can, the sausage was plain old kielbasa, flavorless mashed potatoes, nothing special about the Reuben and the... More

I was very impressed with the atmosphere and menu offered by this quaint downtown restaurant. A pianist was a sweet touch.
