We are staying at the hotel and read all the negative reviews of the food and were dubious about booking in for dinner. We ordered room service lunch which was lovely. There was a discrepancy in the online room service and the current menu but...the staff were happy to accommodate. We found the negative reviews couldn’t have been more wrong- we had a two course evening meal this evening and the food was delicious! Aubergine and carrot soup to start which sounded strange but was lovely. Then the pork and cauliflower dishes for main. I’ll admit there wasn’t much to the cauliflower dish - it was pretty much cauliflower and lentils - but it was delicious. No fault at all with the pork main. We were too full for a pudding and left very happy.More

We were staying on DBB. 3 course menu was not very extensive and fairly simple, even a steak was £12 upgrade. Food was not anything special . "Handmade safron pasta" looked more just like a sheet of lasagne, with no discernible yellow safron colouring to...it. Wouldnt visit again.More

Went here for the last night in Loch Lomond with a party of ten looking forward to a lovely meal but was very disappointed. The food was just ok, the plates stone cold and on a set menu at a set price for 2or 3...courses every second item had a supplement eg sirloin steak £12 and even extra for sauce. A pint of lager was £7.50, I don’t mind paying good money for a good meal but sorry this was not one of those. The service and waitress was very good so thank you for thatMore

A much anticipated stop off for lunch, where the food turned out to be as good as expected - belly pork soft and succulent, a goat cheese and chorizo started that danced on your tongue, and even a pastrami sandwich made to taste special. Views...over the Loch enough to make a coffee taste special. And yet....after seating us, and delivering our food the waiting staff seemed disinterested in any checks or up selling - we would have liked more drinks but no one asked. When our plates were cleared, we asked to see a dessert menu, "aye" came the reply- so we waited, waited, waited- after 15 minutes we gave up on hopes of dessert and coffee. It took a further 5 minutes to attract attention to receive the bill. Such a shame, ruined a nice lunch. If the restaurant is happy to miss out on the £30-50 we would have spent on extra drinks, desserts x4, and coffee - do nothing- alternatively there is a staff training need here that needs addressingMore

Made the mistake of coming here for Afternoon Tea. How I wish I’d read the reviews first! Mistakenly thought that at £22.50 a head, by far the pricey side of the afternoon tea market, it would be something decadent. How wrong was I! For your...money, you get 3 x tiny finger sandwiches (combined they equate to less than 2 x small slices of cheap bread). Expecting decent fillings - forget it! Don’t even think about smoked salmon, roast beef, or even ham. Instead you get egg mayonnaise, tuna mayonnaise, and cheese mayonnaise! As a bonus you will also receive a tiny haggis bonbon and the worlds smallest sausage roll (both bland and taste like they were cooked from frozen). Along with the sandwiches there were a couple of dry scones, some cream and a tiny shop bought jar of basic jam, plus a few tiny sweet treats. If I were the Chef at this place I would be utterly embarrassed at sending this out to customers. However I can guarantee they won’t be embarrassed as they clearly couldn’t care less. The service was good, however the waitress didn’t receive a tip due to the mandatory 10% service charge added to the bill (who knows how/if that service charge is distributed). Nice surroundings, but do yourself a favour, stop in for a drink on your way to the Loch Lomond Arms along the road if you’re looking for food !!More

My fiancé and I visited for afternoon tea well to say it was underwhelming is an understatement!! Small portions of mediocre sandwiches and cakes , tea and coffee re fills offered at £45 i would expect so! Top it off a service charge added to...the bill ! All in £50 sorry it was a complete waste of money!More

The food here was ok, however we weren't wowed. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating so 5 stars to them! Unfortunately the menu was limited and the signature menu online was not available. There's was 2 courses or three course for a certain...amount. However almost anything with mean had a minimum of a £2 supplement, which adds up and takes away from yeh benefit of 2 courses for X amount. Overall the views are great and staff are friendly. But the food selection was disappointingMore

This is a generous 5 star. The restaurant too many inexperienced staff, but this is true of everywhere in the UK what with Covid and Brexit problems. One waitress was on her 2nd day ever of working in hospitality. However they all did a great...job and I particularly mention Mari serving tables and Vicki managing the bar - smiling, friendly, efficient and proactive. The food is not high cuisine but very well cooked family food using excellent products.More

Booked afternoon Tea as a surprise as part of a weekend away for my Daughter and I. Never again. Service was slow and the food was ridiculous for the price. We were served half a round of sandwiches each(egg, cheese, tuna) a tiny haggis bonbon the size...of a mini savoury egg and a micro mini sausage roll,a scone each and a mini pot of jam between us and a tiny dish of cream to share, a profiterole each and 3 tiny inch square bits of cake each. One cup of coffee and a small pot of tea. The cost was 45 pounds. No top up of tea or coffee was offered. A service charge was added to the bill of 10% without my consent. I object to this practice of presumption and deciding for me how much of a tip if any I may wish to leave staff. There was nothing wrong with the food although the sandwich fillings were hardly fancy. It was quantity that was the issue and we left disappointed and hungry.More

The restaurant is very good from service, quality of food and price BUT they allow dogs in which I personally do not agree with and from a hygiene point of view I think it is unacceptable.Otherwise my review would have been an excellent 5 star...review.More
