Whenever we are in the area we always stop here, everything is home baked and excellent; have to make special mention though of the scones and empire biscuits which are the best we have tasted.

Called in for a coffee on Thursday. No tables available. Happened to mention we were only out for a walk and would call in later. Did call in but still no tables apart from one which had a reserved sign. We left a bit disappointed but were called back in by one of the ladies saying that she had reserved... More

We were passing through Taynuilt, en route to Oban, and popped into Robin's Nest for a snack. The selection of light meals was good and our toasties particularly tasty. The staff were efficient and the surroundings pleasant. Newspapers are provided. Not that it affected us, but I understand the establishment is open only Thursday to Sunday. Worth a visit for... We popped in for morning tea, so glad they open on Sundays as we were cycling from Oban and needed sustenance for the onward journey. It's a lovely little cafe with very friendly people. We had delicious treacle scones with raspberry jam and clotted cream, and a yummy sticky date slice. Flat white coffee was well made and strong, and... More

We called in at the Robin’s Nest for a rest and refreshment stop when heading north to Inverness. Located just off the main A85 in the centre of the village this lovely tea room has long been a favourite of the locals and serves as the social heart of the village. It is many years since I was introduced to... More

We decided to stop at Taynuilt, during a motorbike trip for Mallaig back to the central belt, for a quick refreshment. There were 6 of us and this was a really tiny little place and was quite busy. We couldnt believe how accomodating the staff were. they moved tables and chairs around to help us fit in. The service was... More

This is a cute, old fashioned tearoom in the centre of Taynuilt village. We called in late Saturday afternoon to find the place nearly empty, however within 10 minutes it was full and more people where struggling to get in - obviously very popular and busy! Enjoyed a superb bowl of Sweetcorn and Lemongrass soup with a lovely ham &... More

Just the place for a break on the rather punishing 78 cycle route. But it is only open Thursday to Sunday, so hard luck if you are thirsty early in the week!

Although I've no authority to say so other than having eaten it, I would say that this new cake is award-winning! The combination of lightness and moistness in especially rare in a gluten-free cake. Well worth a visit just to try this (let alone the scones)!

This tearoom is fantastic. The staff are always very friendly and helpful, the food is delicious and Mairead's home backing is fantastic. My partner and I dropped in for Tea and Cake on Easter Sunday. Brilliant. The scone's were gorgeous, and the new cinnamon and pecan butter is excellent. Looking forward to returning soon, and having some of my favourite... More
