The hotel is dated and in urgent need of refurbishment. The view is great but the food is not as good as it used to be. Breakfast is good but there is no value for money when dining a la carte. There are plenty of other places worth exploring. Also, a fee of £10 for your dog staying with you... More

We made a reservation for 7pm on a weeknight. There was one other table. We sat next to the windows and had a great view of the harbor. The fixed menu offered the best value and everything tasted great. Our waiter was a little less attentive that we would have preferred, but we were enjoying each other's company and the... More

Just dropped in for a coffee whilst exploring the town and found friendly staff and dog in the main hotel and then went through tot he conservatory with panoramic views over the bay and Morven Peninsula beyond. Coffee was excellent and it was an inspirational break there. The climb up from the pier is quite steep and buses are rare.

Two beautifully cooked steaks, crisp white wine and a well poured pint. Amazing view from the restaurant and worth a visit!

The food here was surprisingly very good but the staff were what made our night special. It was my Mums 81st Birthday treat and the staff made such a fuss of her and took the cake we brought with us out to her and much it such a fun night,

This is a hotel with some history and what looks like a promising future! With lots of decorating and refurbishing going on, this is a busy place. The main entrance is impressive and warm, with the Hotel dog greeting us by the open fire, and friendly staff checking us in. The restaurant has stunning views over the harbor. The private... More

Big portion and reasonably priced. We had the steak and ale and a specially made omelette. The cranachan was the best we have had washed down with a nice bottle of merlot. Very nice indeed.

Log fires, good food, clean and spacious rooms and helpful staff. What more could you want. Oh ... A good selection of whiskies in the bar.

We had a two course meal that was so tasty and warm. The meat was exceptional soft - no chewy at all! It was very good value for money. All our compliments to the chef.

We stopped by whilst visiting Tobermory to get tea & scones in the conservatory after prior phone call to check. Best welcome given to our party of 4 was from the resident Collie Dog. Everyone else had their faces stuck in a VDU. Expected to pay a premium for the views etc. but the atmosphere spoiled by the poor service.

Enjoy stunning views over Tobermory Harbour or across the bay and out to the Sound of Mull. This charming hotel returned to private ownership in September 2008, and is now undergoing a slow transformation back to its former glory. If excellent food, friendly service and a great atmosphere are what you're looking for, then the Western Isles is for you.
