We have not visited for some time and there were changes. The restaurant is clean and tidy. The service was very good. I had the small breakfast with toast and coffee. My wife had gluten free breakfast. The meals were piping hot and very enjoyable.
An unassuming cafe restaurant behind a filling station but with an extensive eating area within, all very clean and bright; extremely helpfful staff and good quick service. Well worth a visit if you are passing OR regular visits as we prefer. Good value for money....More

Stopped here today for a snack while travelling to Caithness, sorry wont be stopping again. Just wanted tea and a sandwich for me and my husband, you couldn't get just a sandwich on its own, you had to either have salad or chips with it....More
I'm sorry to hear your not happy with Tall Pines. The menus are what they are for a reason to give value for money e.g. a side with a sandwich, toastie etc. If we altered the menu for every customer that it didn't suit there...More
(Lovely meal 🥘) Stayed in Dornoch for 7 days. Called into tall pines 🌲 twice. Both times meals were excellent. Presentation on the salad 🥗 was beautiful. Only draw back service a bit slow. But would not put me off going back.
Had a great meal at tall pines. It was very nice but we ordered food and got it half an hour later. After the meal we wanted pudding. The staff didn't see that we were finished and half an hour they finally came. I think...More
A lovely restaurant very conveniently next to a filling station. Very pretty, light and airy, lovely local photographs for sale (we have bought two puffins, there are some extremely striking ones of waterfalls and the moors). Staff always very polite and friendly, scarcely any wait...More
Very poor service. Plenty of staff, but got the distinct feeling they didnt want to serve. It was lunch time so no excuse for wanting to close. When the food arrived it was ok when they got the order correct.
Nice place to stop for a break, clean and good food, not the quickest of service but it is always hot and served by nice staff
