Dropped in for lunch in this popular cafe . We settled for the Sandwich menu I took the excellent BLT and my partner took the Ham and mango chutney toastie . Really fresh and tasty . I see this is a dog friendly cafe for well behaved dogs . There is a nice display of cakes as well . The Bill was a nice surprise as well with 2 sandwiches and 2 pepsi coming in at about £15.The Staff were friendly and helpful

A quaint little Scottish cafe run by possibly the sweetest couple I've ever seen. The coffee is always on point, and as much as it doesn't help my waistline I'm constantly looking for reasons to visit so I can have a giant white chocolate and raspberry muffin. There really is no better place to sit in the sunshine and take a breather from life. I always leave feeling better than when I arrived.

Cafe Rhubarb has been recommended to me many times and I finally made it along last week! First of the decor is fantastic. The owner obviously comes from a line of artists as the colours are so vibrant and you instantly relax when you enter. I was greeted with a brilliant smile from Laura the owner and I decided to sit down and have a meal. Even in these Covid times the cafe was full of smiling people enjoying their meal and coffee. Service was fantastic and I finished with some fab ice cream. I thoroughly recommend this cafe. Tell your friends!

Had a disappointing experience at cafe rhubarb. Initially impressed with the friendliness of staff and the general atmosphere. Unfortunately toilets were far from clean, food was very over priced and did not match the rave reviews written previously. Ordered a milkshake that appeared to be just flavoured milk, a poorly presented peanut butter and jam bagel that came with a salad?? (priced seemingly high at £6.25 ish) and soup that wasn’t too great either. After seeing a member of staff touching their hair whilst holding food from the fridge with bare hands we were slightly put off. When jokingly mentioning at the end that a sweet bagel with salad is rather unusual we were met with two defensive staff members who told us ‘we have to serve it with something’ and ‘the menu said you can choose between salad or crisps’ - equally bizarre! Could be a fab wee place however poor staff attitude, random food selection and general lack of cleanliness fall short.

Unfortunately first impressions were not good. We were only in the cafe for a short period of time and we heard the staff telling customers on numerous occasions that they didn’t have this, they didn’t have that, run out of this and that. Yes I appreciate that cafes run out of things but it was an actual joke. My husband ordered a Coke float and by the time it got to the table it had spilt all over the plate. Instead of it being taken away and cleaned up he was handed some napkins to do it himself. Someone came in for a takeaway coffee and a member of staff had to nip out the cafe to get disposable cups. It just seemed to be a bit hectic and not a very relaxing experience

Food was good and came quick. Staff were really friendly but a little unorganised in their roles. My partner and I both got sandwiches which were fresh and both enjoyed. However, felt like it was taken from a packet and not so much homemade if that’s what you’re looking for. I also ordered an iced coffee which was barely cold. The initial service was great, but when it came to paying we waited some time (made it clear we were ready to leave by tidying our dishes neatly and putting on our jackets). It got the point we walked to the counter. Possibly it goes from table service to pay on your way out. Would try somewhere new when we next visit Crieff.

Having eaten in Cafe Rhubarb previously we returned during our recent visit to Crieff however we were sadly disappointed ….. menu choice was extremely poor and the overall feel was of a cafe that didn’t really want customers In fairness I had a Cajun Chicken Panini and it was very tasty however my wife had to re-choose from menu as what she originally ordered was not available ….. not great considering the menu choice was minimal anyway. Would not return and would suggest you visit so of the other excellent cafe’s in Crieff.

As a group of three couples with a yong child, we were all excited to visit Cafe Rhubarb, the reviews were good, as was the cafe’s location in Crieff. Unfortunately from the moment we walked through the door our experience was poor and only got worse. The staff were all quite rude and the atmosphere was unwelcoming. We very quickly felt like an inconvenience. The menu looked great, a bit on the pricey side, but we were happy to pay more based on the foot being of good value. Unfortunately, the food that was served did not reflect the quality, the price or the reviews. We ordered pancakes with banana for our wee one, it arrived with a long hair - which later was made clear to have come from the chef - who came out without a hairnet. The salmon bagel arrived in an undesirable brown colour, the £7 two slices of french toast were both burnt, and we had to remind the waiting staff of drinks that were not delivered. We also had to ask for cutlery, salt and sauces after the food had been delivered. We were happy to leave the salmon without a replacement meal. The chef made loud comments about the salmon, which could be heard from the kitchen. It was made unpleasantly clear that she (the chef) was unpleased that our party didn’t wish to eat a the salmon. The cafe itself has an evident condensation issues. As all the windows, mirrors and even the toilet walls/mirrors and floors were soaked in condensation. The humidity was quite uncomfortable and did not make for the nicest environment to enjoy a meal. My partner being a National customer experience trainer, tried speaking with the server about removing the salmon from the bill. We were met with a very rude and defensive chef and server, who were very loudly and rudely defensive. This created a very uncomfortable atmosphere for my group and undoubtedly for the the rest of the cafe. Some of the food served was lovely and quite enjoyable, so we really hope that the cafe consider their approach when dealing with customer service in the future. We hope they address issues with health and safety like the condensation and the lack of a hairnet from their chef.

Still my favourite Cafe! Always innovative and dedicated to giving their customers great home cooked food, they have recently introduced a fabulous three-tier toasted sandwich to their menu. It is full of melted cheese bacon, chicken, ham, lettuce, tomato and finally, a fried egg peeping through the top tier! It is amazing and so filling. But not so filling that I didn’t have room for a very generous slice of their melt in the mouth luxury caramel shortbread. Cafe Rhubarb is dog friendly and always welcoming.. Try it if you are in the area, it is just so nice!

Busy inside when we arrived. Our lunch order was taken quite promptly and our pot of tea arrived. However 30 mins later, we still had not had our sandwiches so I went to ask if they would be much longer. I was told , quite assertively by the owner, that he was understaffed and was doing the best he could! I said that if we had only been kept informed of the situation I would not have needed to have asked how long our lunch was going to take. I fully appreciate how difficult it is just now for certain businesses to get staff , but let people know they are going to have to wait half an hour when they come in.

I’m sorry you felt the need to give a negative review . We are trying our utmost to run our small family businesses to the best of our ability, but when we cannot get staff as anybody who watches the news would know makes it incredibly difficult and very frustrating for us to run our cafe the way we would like to. You came over to complain and I explained to you kindly at the time that you were the last customers to have come in , it was impossible to serve you any faster as all of our food is freshly made . We gave you two complimentary teas for any inconvenience we had caused you and apologised which you failed to mention in your 3 star review . Kind regards Cafe Rhubarb

We visited this cafe with friends and three dogs and were made to feel instantly welcome by the owners. There is a terrific choice of savoury and sweet items including super gluten free choices. The BLT bagel was my choice and was my favourite meal of a two week trip to Scotland. Thanks ever so much for welcoming us to Cafe Rhubarb

We went out for our first road trip of 2023 and headed out of Fife to anywhere North of Perth. We landed in Crieff at lunchtime and looked for somewhere to eat. We seen the usual places but not interested. That's when we came upon the Cafe Rhubarb and looked inviting from the outside. It was quite busy but we managed to get a seat after getting a warm smile from the Lady owner. After a few minutes we were presented with the menu with o lot of choices catering for all tastes. We went for soup and sandwiches with a pot of tea,at first we thought it a little overpriced until the lunch arrived. We were certainly happy with the plateful and not hungry after finishing it and satisfied with the delicious food. It's very Dog friendly although we don't have a dog again it's not everywhere that's like this place. We will certainly stop off again the next time we are travelling through Crieff. 5**********

Had a great choice of menu options for lunch. The coffee and cake were really lovely but the sandwich chosen was a little bland (my fault, I didn't realise it would be gouda/emmental style cheese which is pretty tasteless). The food was served quickly and was freshly prepared. Was happy to see a sign saying no feet/dogs on the seats (wish more places were like this). The booth seats weren't the most comfortable, but it was a place for a quick bite, not a leasurely lunch.

Visited this charming little cafe for lunch today. As a group of 8, we were very well looked after and were seated at our time of booking. The menu was excellent and the food and drink was delivered quickly and everyone enjoyed what they had. Thanks to Marti and his partner for their hospitality and we will hopefully return whilst we holiday this week in Crieff.
