Been to this chippy a couple of times, the fish is absolutely brilliant however was very disappointed in the chips served on my last visit as they were more like half potatoes than chips. Each person has their own preference to how they like their chips but for me I couldn't eat them they were not enjoyable.

although I did enjoy the wee chippy experience, I found the decision between nuggets and goujons rather harrowing. First of all, goujons has a better quality of chicken, however nuggets are seasoned better to potentially give a better taste. Then I questioned what condiment I could have with either a goujons or nugget and I was left none the wiser,... More

Went here after arriving in Anstruther after a long drive. Needed a fast meal. Friendly, quick and the chips were really good although lacking in salt and vinegar. Fish was lovely and the fishcakes came in generous portions of two. Scampi was also a good portion and fresh as were the home-made onion rings. However I couldn't get gravy, curry... More

Being just down the road from the famous chippy this little place has to be good to compete. Everything is freshly made and very enjoyable, if you dont want to queue come here because it really is a very good choice with very efficient welcoming staff even when they have been run off their feet all day.

We intended to visit the "other" rather famous fish and chip shop but the queues were off putting, so we found this lovely wee place instead just up the road. It was a glorious sunny day and there were tables and chairs outside the shop. The fish and chips we throughly enjoyed were cooked to perfection - the batter is... More

Popped in today, got a local recommendation and was not disappointed at all, great friendly service and food was delicious, battered haddock supper with mushy peas, would come back for sure.

We went here whilst on holiday in Fife. What a find, great fish & chips, no long wait to be served. It should be called The Wee Belter !

Came here for the first time a couple of months ago after the que was out the door of the "famous Anstruther chip shop" which is where I normally go to when in this area, and I will continue to come to the Wee Chippy instead. Fish was very nice, thick crispy batter and not too oily, chips were also... More

First of all, I get it, ‘The Wee Chippy’ is a popular and busy place. What I don’t get is… “why?” Miserable, moody teenagers’ moping behind the counter. One lad taking orders from customers in what seemed like no particular order, another taking money, a third standing scowling at the customers, while an older woman, presumably the mother, does the... Visited Saturday 3rd Sept 2016 6.30pm for chips, waited 15 minuties. They were cold and grey looking, bad enough that you would never return. Fryer looked to be in a bad mood as though he had had enough.
