Nice food and Ale in an old quaint pub.The place is small but i enjoy pubs that have not been over modernised.

Second visit to this, first time was fabulous (wonderful beef and horseradish sandwich to die for). This time, the door was unlocked at 12.20, but all the lights off and nobody inside at all. The Marie Celeste of pubs. Couldn't find anyone around at all and no sign of life so we eventually had to drive off. No idea what... More

What a waste of time coming here Trip Adviser has good reports for food, but we turn up and the sign outside said good food available, but not when we went in. The bar staff was not very helpful just said no food no explanation so we left!!

We were staying at The MIll End Hotel, literally a stones throw down the lane, and stumbled upon The Sandy Park, although we had been referred to it by the landlady of the Rugglestone Inn at Widecombe. So when we came across it by chance we stopped and found a pub frequented by locals, always a recommendation in my book.... More

There's a new chef on the block by the name of Alex Millage and he can certainly pack flavour into a vegetable lasagne! Called in on a Sunday lunchtime and were impressed enough with the Leek and Lentil soup and the Garlic Mushrooms in Creamy Sauce to check the evening menu potential for a couple of vegetarians. Spoke to the... More

Kind of noisy, limited selections, dark restaurant interior. Friendly wait staff. Wouldn't go out of my way to go here.

We stopped here for lunch today (having almost driven past it!). We arrived after lunch had finished but the owner (I think) offered to make us a couple of panini, which were absolutely delicious. A really good pint and a gin fizz (a great recommendation - try one!), and a very warm and friendly welcome. I'm so glad we happened... More

We had a booking on expedia and when we arrived fairly late in the evening we discovered that it had shut down. No warning - they could at least have emailed us so we could make alternative arrangements. Atrocious.
