The chef really made us welcome and took time to talk about the food and preparation with us. The pork and sea bass was cooked superbly and the chef was happy to go into detail about the incredients he uses. Staff were friendly and the food was very reasonably priced with a good variety. I would recommend this venue if... More

We have previously eaten in the Conservatory restaurant in the main part of the hotel a few years ago & it was very good. This time we found ourselves in central St. Peter Port & ate in the Library Bar & Carvery a couple of lunchtimes & again, the food was spot on, reasonably priced for Guernsey & a notch... More

What a coincidence the last review is on the same lines as my review!!! My visit was completely marred by extremely unacceptable staff behaviour. The food & wine were barely acceptable but, by far, not one of the better lunches I have ever had. I don't intend to expose the problems on this site for obvious reasons but readers will... More

Visited for drinks on a family weekend away, had to endure the rudest barman in the whole world (well certainly in the whole of Guernsey). Do yourself a favour do not i repeat do not ask for the wifi code, you will be greeted by a groan a moan and then he will say it at around 100mph then if... More

Had Sunday roast carvery here after being recommended by a local. As carverys go it was fine - £10. The meats were beef and pork. Beef was medium rare and both were good quality cuts, cooked well.. Meat portion was generous. Crackling had dried out and was not great. As much veg as you wanted but as they hang about,... More

We have eaten here many times while in Guernsey and it never disappoints. We love fish and there is always a good selection, locally caught and simply cooked. Served with stir fry veg or a salad. There used to be a help yourself carvery but this has been discontinued (for the summer?) but there was a roast available. Plenty of... More

After wandering around on a Sunday in St Peter Port and realising there are no shops open, we decided to find somewhere to sit and have a bite to eat. The Library Carvery seems hidden away but we found it and went on in. The interior is dated and after ordering drinks we sat down. The menu was the usual... More

In the taxi in from the airport we asked the taxi driver for eating recommendations. We wanted good value eatable food - not looking for posher "fne dining". He pointed us at the Library Bar -- and it was worth going there.

The Tennerfest menu was great value. The carvery was particularly good. The portions were huge. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
