This truly is a wonderful haven with fine Italian food & service from Sardinian chef/proprietor & his happy team. Guernsey is now in throes of the annual tennerfest menu for next 5 weeks or so where restaurants are encouraged to be menu inventive & charge reasonable prices. This is £12.50 for two courses & £15.00 for three. I chose the... More

Loved it here - the atmosphere was so relaxing & the food was also delicious! It's so nice to see an Italian restaurant put a 'vegan pizza' on their menu that is loaded with simple tasty seasoned vegetables! 🍴 The staff also seemed very aware of what items were vegan/which were not which was I appreciate very much! 💜

We went for the Tennerfest menu but ended up trying the main menu. I had one of the nicest fish soups I've ever had, followed by a rich game stew that was really tasty. The others all had other choices and thoroughly enjoyed theirs as well. A lovely Sicilian red wine to wash it down was very reasonable. My Zabaglione... More

We had dinner here on the 4th night of our 5 night stay in Guernsey, having eaten in the hotel up to then (included package). Sadly this was Saturday night, and Ivan is closed on Sunday so we couldn't come back; next time we will have to time it so that we can eat here all the time. The food... More

This small restaurant in the old quarter can be easily missed as it is at the end of an alleyway. You should make sure you don't though as the service, the ambiance and most importantly the food was excellent.

Visited the restaurant on Tuesday lunchtime, had the calamari and prawn risotto... Whilst the portion was not huge, it was really fresh, packed with calamari and freshly cooked prawns (not pre-cooked from a pack). Would recommend trying the dish. The owner is very nice too...

Visited on a Monday night on a whim. What a find. The chef was alone as all his staff had recently left. He really did his best to be a waiter, chef and barman. The food was freshly cooked and really tasty. We had to wait but it didn't matter as we could see he was doing his best and... More

A group of us dined here again recently on a Monday evening when there were only three other diners in the premises. We had booked a table and were informed by the somewhat surly waitress that we should have arrived an hour ago which was a mistake on the restaurant's part and the place was like a ghost town anyway!... Visited with my family on Friday night, because that's our traditional pizza night. Some reviews mentioned La Lanterna make the best pizza in Guernsey so we gave it a go. We weren't disappointed at all. HUGE, delicious, crisp-based, authentic-Italian pizza's. Great staff and atmosphere. Lovely. Best pizza in Guernsey.

Unusually very quiet when we visited on a Saturday evening so table not an issue, waitress was very welcoming we chose just a pizza each and a bottle of Primitivo for our meal. The pizzas were both fantastic ,a nice thin crispy base and plenty of toppings and very large best pizza we have tasted even in Italy. Evening rounded off with... More

Description
La Lanterna is an intimate Italian restaurant, hidden away in the old quarter of St Peter Port next to the new market, serving authentic rustic specialities. The proprietor is Ivan Pellegrini. Ivan is a native Sardinian and his friendly staff echo the Sardinian spirit: generous, spontaneous, family centred and thoroughly Mediterranean. The menu includes nice stone-baked pizzas, pasta, risotto, fish and meat dishes cooked in the Sardinian style. The wine list is dominated by wine from the region and represents exceedingly good value for money. This is a restaurant to savour, as are the flavours that come from the food.
