This was our second visit. On both occasions we had the tasting menu. This time we added a bottle of rose champagne. The food and service was exceptional. Although the food was not as good as a couple of years ago. Shame the chef did not come out to see us as he did before.

Saffrons restaurant is one of the best restaurant we've eaten.Extremely delicious food with a touch of indian cuisine and a very good selection of wines. Staff is exceptional and very knowledgeable. The food and the wines were explained to us in an unique way. A memorable experience which exceeded our expectations!!!

Amazing taster menu with a different wine with every course. Each plate is described, and so is the wine, by the knowledgeable waitresses and waiters. Lots of courses but you don't feel full. If you want a special meal, go try it!

We went for the set menu - 3 courses with a choice of 4 dishes per course. All were amazing. A Michelin style experience for £30 a head. There were also pre-dinner snacks and coffee to finish. The drinks were reasonable and the staff exceptional. My wife is Coeliac and every care was taken to ensure she enjoyed everything available,

What an amazing night! Most of our party opted for the Taster menu where each course was accompanied with either an appropriate wine or beer. The beautifully presented food was delicious. The service was excellent and our waitress and waiter for the evening gave us detailed descriptions of the food and the named beers and wines that complimented each course.... More

We ate the taster menu with the wine to accompany each course. We have eaten here before and the standard is exceptionally high. My wife is gluten free and they adapted any parts of the dishes necessary. But with skill and care that made her meal every bit as good as mine. These changes are not simple but complex in... More

This was one of our favourites to eat in. Good food and good company and lovely friendly staff.the desserts were my favourite, they were all good , but probably too much choice!!

Jersey has Tennerfest and Gourmetfest from October 1 to November 11, when many of the island's restaurants offer special table d'hote menus at very reasonable prices. Despite the heavy competition, we were staying at the fabulous Hotel de France and were so glad we dined 'in' a couple of times. Description
Saffrons cuisine is the healthy balance and combination of Indian spices and local ingredients."The unusual combination of spices used successfully creates an amazing yet healthy dining experience. The result - lighter and healthier dishes, but still with the intense flavours that make Indian cooking so unique. All the taste but none of the cholesterol.The Concept:The Foundation of our cooking is based on sourcing quality local products. By utilizing such products as hand dived scallops, line caught sea bass and local vegetables, we are having products at their peak quality at the right time (seasonality) and reducing food miles which affects the quality of the product as well as the environment.The Technique:The cooking methods are inspired from different regions of India; seafood recipes from Goa to richer dishes from Punjabi in the north. We utilize a clay oven, called Tandoor, to retain the authenticity of such dishes as Naan bread and all Tandoories. Modern European techniques such as slow cooking, low temperature and sous-vide are used to perfect the blend of spices and quality of the product.The Presentation:Dishes are presented simply in a modern European way, letting the food 'do-the-talking' rather than masking the food in heavy garnishing and sauces. The essence is to retain the intensity of flavours but allow for lighter and healthier dishes.
