There are always vegan options including cupcakes. Fun atmosphere in Market Square. The food is always delicious!

Service is less than acceptable. Food not anywhere close to what described usually small portions . We have been many times with groups and never a choice for me . Vegetarian friendly especially if you want to leave hungry .

I had never eaten at The Tomato Head until this past fall when I happened to be uptown with some friends. I chose the pizza and a salad and it was very good. The only drawback I experienced was that the salad had several ingredients that I wouldn't normally eat on a tossed salad, (they were so different that I... More

Had breakfast there not long ago. Asked for some jelly or jam to add to our biscuit. When the bill for our food was presented to us, we had been charged an additional $1.50 for the small half-dollar sized cup of jam.

Tomato H, Owner at Tomato Head, responded to this review

Hello Thomas, Thanks for visiting us. We're very sorry that we didn't let you know about the separate charge for the addition. Our jam is homemade, and the quality and care that go into it does increase its cost. Instead of folding that into the price of every biscuit, we keep it optional. We do list it as a separate... There were many different food choices available in Market Square. We decided to stop in. Everyone was friendly and there was an inviting atmosphere. The server answered all of questions about the menu. If you want a huge salad, this is the place! Worth the extra money paid compared to other places.

I have been going to The Tomato Head for over 25 years. Their food is great every time. I especially love the salmon and pesto pizza.

This is the original Tomato Head started by Mahasti Vafai back in the eighties. They still have fabulously tasty food. Delicious homemade fresh salads and saladdressings, especially the tahini house. Homemade bread for sandwiches and sides. The problem, though, is the acoustics. I could not hear anything my friend said and vv. We ended up eating in silence with a... More

We believe less processed food tastes better. Not only does it taste better, it's much healthier too. You'll notice this difference in our house made dressings and handcrafted pizzas, as well as in our colorful salads and sandwiches. Fresh produce from East Tennessee farmers like Hines Valley Farm, Mountain Meadows Farm and Colvin Family Farm is featured in our daily specials.

Well known for our vegan and vegetarian dishes, our menu has plenty for the carnivore. All of our proteins are nitrate/nitrite free, all natural and antibiotic free. Our house made lamb sausage is cooked in small batches to ensure freshness.

Our sister bakery, Flour Head Bakery, prepares all of the Tomato Head's desserts and breads (including gluten free!) Each morning. By using unbleached and unbromated King Arthur Flour, we create healthier and better tasting pizza dough and sandwich breads.

We also can easily accommodate your dietary needs. Whether it's a nut allergy, a preference for vegan fare or a gluten sensitivity, our staff will craft a dish to suit your tastes.
