The food was excellent and was very large portions. I normally can eat any dinner I sit down for but I had to take 1/2 of my sandwich home.

In my top 10 places to eat in Knoxville. Wholesome, delicious, friendly, casual, deli with market. Everything from the best Ruben sandwiches to vegetarian plates. Great salads with feta, bakery items, three kinds of baklava, three flavors of humus, bulk dates, figs, grape leaves, cold...bean salads, spanicopatas, teramasu ... to mention only a few. And of course the Gyro, hamburger, the Dagwood sandwich, iloves, bulk feta cheese. The owner learned from a Chicago deli kong ago. The owner is still there even as his grown children have moved to Knoxville to take over. They brought their deli expertise as well. He is turning it over to good family.More
Had always wanted to try this place as my wife and I love good Middle Eastern Cuisine. My wife's chicken shawarma plate was almost inedible. There was a mess of tough, burned/charred chicken. So dry, a knife could not cut it. My falafel pita sandwich...lacked much flavor. The humus was below par and not good. I went out of my way because this was awarded the Best of Knoxville. Expensive lesson learned.More
Solid Middle-Eastern deli food in a friendly and relaxed setting. Restaurant is set in a market, so there's plenty to experience.
Great food and service I really like the open kitchen they prepare all the food where all can see lots of selections and they sell Awesome pita bread and Fava beans
I should have taken a picture of this food but it smelled so good, I ate it all before I thought of snapping a pic. Guys, this is it! You have to try this amazing burst of flavors inside your mouth. It will take over...all your senses and pretty much make you useless for the rest of the day but ... oh so worth it. I travel the world for my work and taste different foods all the time. The Holy Land Market is tucked in a little nook in South Knoxville. The staff are so sweet, work hard and tend to you as quickly as they can. I ordered the beef and lamb gyro made with injera bread. Soooo delicious, not too spicy. The restaurant is clean and charming. The grocery section is filled with exotic choices. If you are in the area and looking for a nice treat for your senses. Come to this family place and experience an Eastern African delight right here in Knoxville, Tennessee.More
The service was great and the food was awesome. Very authentic food. We have been to the middle east many times and the food and atmosphere at the Holy Land Market brought back great memories. Highly recommend...!!!
We had never been to this place, but we will be going back over and over. The food was great, and the owners were so nice and attentive. It's a small market and deli with both Middle Eastern cuisine, and New York Style deli food,...famous for their Reubens, but we will have to go back in a few days to try that. Today we got a "sampler" plate for two that would serve four, and had to take about half home for another meal later. Try this place--we loved it and will go back soon, and often!More
The owners are always there. There serve very good food and the have a middle eastern grocery, where you will find things that are not found elsewhere. The groceries are reasonable. The restaurant prices are a bit on the high side. The food is prepared...to order and they make excellent humous in a variety of flavors.More
Always good, always friendly, always huge portions! If you have any desire to try good Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food, this place is fabulous! I've lived in the Middle east and eaten at every middle eastern joint in town and this is my favorite!
A m a z i n g food. Off the chart taste and service. The owner is aways welcoming, gracious and an eellent host.
Omg!!!! What a fabulous place!!!! If you live in Knoxville or just passing by you must go to this wonderful market!! Being from NY I miss deli places like this!!! This place is simply THE BEST! Walter at Holy Land Market has many dishes that are phenomenal. He also caters to the needs of the vegan community. My favorite is the Impossible burger, and he also carries the Beyond Meat products. Just ask and he'll...cook ya up something special! During my most recent trip, he used the Impossible meat and seasoned it like lamb with pine nuts, placed it on a layer of his homemade hummus, and sided it with pickled turnips (delicious), a pickle, olives, and some pepperoncini...served with his special bread. It was delightful! I highly recommend Holy Land Market and Deli!More
Traveled to Knoxville to meet friends and stopped at this market due to the fact they offer a vegan menu.I place an order to go a vegan cheese steak and vegan fries.Waited about 40 minutes and they were not busy. The cashier /order counter appeared to...be non personal as if I was a bother. No apology no discount nothing ! Good food bad service.Vegan sandwich also very pricey. Not a fan due to customer service.More
I sorry my dear you had a bad experience you can talk to the vegan group and they will tell you how I am next time you come to knoxville you dinner is on me
I was very impressed by the food. I haven’t had any Mediterranean food in a while. I had the chicken curry plate, stuff grape leaves and falafel appetizer plate. It was all very good and tasted fresh. My girlfriend had a Ruben that did not...only taste amazing, but was big enough for 2 meals. I was very pleased. It has a great vibe and was cozy. The only reason for the 4 rating is because it is weird walking in and figuring out if you are supposed to sit down or order from the counter. If this was corrected it would be a 5 all day long. Yummy 😋More
