We so wanted to have a nice dinner here but it was the worst! Only good thing was the view and waitress was ok. The jumbo shrimp was the smallest shrimp you can buy and then they tried to say it shrunk because of cooking? It was so overcooked and salt! The almondine trout was overcooked as well. Could not... Stopped for lunch prior to doing a short hike on the AT. Service was efficient. Our table overlooking the water provided a great view of Watauga Lake, with a sailboat regatta just leaving the marina. My husband's Greek Salad was fresh and delicious, my grilled catfish sandwich was tasty. One small complaint: why would you put cucumbers in cole slaw?... More

I had heard about the Captain's Table for years and was always told that it was a great dining experience. My wife ordered the crab cakes and to say the least she was extremely disappointed. The crab cakes tasted like they came out of the frozen food section of your local grocer. If you are expecting good, like authentic Maryland... More

I do love a restaurant with a view. This one looks out on the lake. The food was good. The friend green tomato appetizer was excellent - with horseradish sauce, which was a nice touch. I had cajun catfish, which was really good - spicy but not too spicy. The wait staff was really accommodating and friendly.

Last Friday night my SO, my step DD, my best friend(fresh from Kuwait, on leave from Army), and I went here to celebrate him being home and a birthday. We arrived and it wasn't as busy. We're were seated immediately and then we waited 15 minutes for a greeting. We were greeted, poorly, by our server. She didn't say her... More

This was a perfect way to end a great day of rafting and zip lining in the area. The view was amazing, and the food was fantastic. My kids are still talking about the fresh bread and sweet butter:)

It has a beautiful view! We were surprised by how good the food was. They accommodate large groups very well. We were a party of 8 with small children and there was also a party of 20 there at the same time. It is nice to have the option to drive you car or boat to dinner.
