On Black Friday, this bluff area over the city invited the public to free tours of Houston House, tastings at the bakery, holiday music. All very nice. Near lunch time we wandered into the lovely Black Inn Cafe expecting to have a leisurely lunch with, perhaps, a glass of wine. Because of the festivities, I gather, no lunch was being... More

I attended a wine pairing dinner. The presentation was wonderful, interesting and introduced me to new wines. I had a three course dinner, all courses had a beautiful presentation and delicious.I will definitely return for dinner. I highly recommend for a romantic evening, dinner with friends and family.

A failure from start to finish. Our selected wine turned out (eventually) to not be available. OK, in a small restaurant that can happen, but worse was yet to come. Tried to order duck breast (one of my favorite meats that I've eaten on five continents) cooked medium rare, but was told "the chef will only cook it to medium... More

This is an amazing hidden gem overlooking the Tennessee River, the ambiance is great and the wine selection is superb. The food selection is limited but what we had was delicious and prepared to perfection. I had the Roasted Duck on a bed of Sweet Potatoes which was tender and very good. Don't go with a large appetite because the... More

Reserved an outside table with a view of the river and waited for my guests who were driving up from Georgia to arrive. Enjoyed a great glass of Moscato (St. Supéry, California) and had some bread with a white bean deep that was out of this world. My guests finally arrived and we ordered some small plates of lump crab... More

This was the first time that we have visited. Seated quickly with a nice view. If the weather had been better the outdoor patio would be the place to be. The bread prior to meal was good, but should be served warm. NY Strip was cooked excellent, however it was a little tough, sides were excellent. Filet was excellent along... More

The wife and I came to celebrate my birthday and we were impressed! The white table cloth and high-end ambiance is always a treat! We started with the Pork Belly Waffle which definitely a first for us! Very impressive. I then opted for the Martin House steak which was delicious and cooked perfectly. We finished with the Heathbar Bread Pudding... More

This is a lovely, fine dining restaurant located in an old historic home. The food was outstanding and the river view added to the pleasant experience

Menu was exciting. So many choices! Rance and Jarred (in training) were awesome. We ate outside with beautiful views and atmosphere! Highly recommend! The Martin House Steak was divine.

We visited the Back Inn Cafe on the last night of our anniversary vacation in Chattanooga. We definitely saved the best for last. We were seated at a window table giving us a beautiful view of the Tennessee river as we dined. We started out with cocktails - a pomegranate martini for me which our server created himself because, as... More
