As I'm more of a fruit wine person (apple, strawberry, etc...) than a grape wine person, I find that Prairie Berry has some of the best that I've tasted. Their workers are also prompt and courteous, coming up to greet you as soon as you...More

This is a really nice combo restaurant, wine tasting room and wine store. We did not eat here but did do wine tasting. Surprising as it may seem there were some really good wines here in SD. They have won tons of awards for their...More

Prairie Berry Winery is nice for a quick lunch, offering sandwiches and salads. After lunch walk up to the sample table, for a few free samples.

We really enjoyed this place. It's clean, huge, modern! The staff was awesome (even though they were short staffed that night) our server kicked butt doing our tasting and telling us about the wines. We didn't get the food because it was really Expensive. We...More

The building is nicely done but nothing else to offer. The wine is way too sweet and very overpriced. The food was short on serving and over priced as well. The service was adequate and friendly but were more interested in chatting with co-workers. Won't...More

Not being much of a wine drinker like my wife, I have to say after taste testing, the Red A$$ Rhubarb is better than it sounds. They have a good size selection to choose from but it not overwhelming.

Great tasting experience! Winemaker has a crazy amount of awards, and it shows in the quality of wines.. Nice facility, with plenty of tasting area, and they serve lunch items as well.

This was one of the most pleasant surprises of our visit to South Dakota. Located outside of Hill city, this local winery was a real special treat. There is also a brewery next-door for people who like beer. The winery concentrates on wines made with...More

Ronald, Great question, and it looks like there have been several great answers already! Most of our wines range in price from $14 to $25, although some of the wines available exclusively to our wine club members and those... More

Description
Experience our award-winning wines in a fun and relaxed setting in the heart of the Black Hills. Find us three miles northwest of Hill City on Highway 385, just a few miles from Mount Rushmore National Memorial and Crazy Horse Memorial. We’re Hill City’s only working winery and Sandi Vojta, our fifth generation winemaker, handcrafts each wine, often using old family recipes, just a few steps from our Tasting Room. Start your Prairie Berry Winery experience with a free wine tasting of up to five of our award-winning wines, including our Anna Pesä handcrafted traditional European wines, at our Tasting Bars. We produce a variety of wines in styles for every palate – from crisp, dry wines and robust, oak-aged reds to sweet, fruity varieties. Our Kitchen offers housemade menu items including gluten-free, vegetarian and kids’ options. Menu selections pair perfectly with our wines, vary with the season and many of our ingredients are sourced locally. Enjoy a meal on our patio with our beautiful views of Black Elk Peak (formerly Harney Peak). Our brewery, Miner Brewing Company, is located next door.
