My teen girls loved the name so we stopped here for lunch. Hush puppies were handed out and they had us, we were told they would bring more but never did. The shrimp poboy was very good, and you have to sit outside!

Not the same as it was a year ago. It used to be fun with everyone drinking and partying in the outdoor partly covered deck bar, (including smoking). Smoking has now been prohibited. Everyone was eating, boredom written on their faces and there was a definite lack of any party atmosphere. A bar is for drinking, not sitting at a... More
The saloon is a great place to sit and relax, eat good food and watch the marsh life. We sat outside and the food was good, our waitress was new, but good and you have to check out all of the puppy pics inside. What a unique memorial to the mutts we all love and cherish!
We asked to sit outside. It was around 3:40pm. Happy hour menu, which was on our table, started at 4. When we asked about happy hour our waitress told us that was only for the inside tables. I don't think it's good business to include a menu on a table that shows items people can't have. Frustrating. Then, our entrees... More
Hello and thank you for dining with us. I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience. There is no excuse for your appetizers to come out after your main dishes, that is not how we typically operate. Had we been made aware during your time of visit, one of our managers would have gladly visited your table and... More
The grilled pimento cheese and fried green tomato sandwich was out of this world! Holy good! The shrimp posted boy was super delicious. Nice crispy fresh bread. You must say yes when they ask if you'd like some hush puppies. Instead of bread, they bring fried hush puppies and let me tell ya...they are like little mini corn funnel cakes.... More
Stopped for lunch after a boat tour. Place is large, but well staffed. The food was great. Wife had seafood, I had a Ruben. Good beer list with a local stout on special that was outstanding. Nice indoor/outdoor area with a view of the inlet. Will stop again when in the area.
Great location, interesting story to the name ! Big menu, loved the crab soup. Complimentary hush puppies Down side was that the butter with the hush puppies had a previous scrape taken out...the same with the guacamole. A definite chip dip from a previous plate. That was a bit gross. The waiter acknowledged it and replaced but.....surely they could throw... More
The day prior I ate at Wicked Tuna, and I was very pleased with our service and meal. I would no doubt give it a 5/5. However, we wanted to try something different and started looking around for other seafood restaurants in the area. While the name Dead Dog is a little different, we read some raving reviews and decided... More
I'm a local and have been going to DDS for years. Always friendly staff, great view, cold beer, and a festive atmosphere. On my last visit I was disappointed with the hush puppies. They tasted ok but were not hot enough to melt the butter. The brisket sandwich I had though was awesome. Very nice experience overall.
