We had heard good things but it is off our list if we visit again. Food was good but over priced, but that wasn’t the worst of it. Wait staff must have a bad day. After being seated we waited about 10 minutes before someone...came and asked if we were ready to order. Umm, can we order some wine and maybe ask about the menu? My wife asked for samples of two wines before ordering a glass but I just ordered a glass. By the time that was sorted out and she had her glass I was getting low so I asked for another glass. After we asked for more bread (tiny slices) I ordered another glass. After a bit my wife ordered another glass. Dinner shows up along with my wife’s second glass and the waitress asked if I had ordered a second. Umm, yes. They comped both second glasses. We get the check and she has two folios. She looks and says this one is yours. I open it and it has a different bill and someone’s credit card in it. I know people have bad days and staffing is a challenge, but isn’t there a manager too?More

Last year we ate here at Larkin's and it was fabulous for being in the mist of the Covid. We came back this year and we had to go eat there again. I want to say what a professional friendly staff. Kudo to the Chef...and his crew. Specially like to give a big hand to the young man behind the bar, Alex. Not only was he a Bartender, but also a barista and a waiter. He was friendly and the best . Also the food is so delicious, you will experience taste bud orgasmsMore

Excellent steaks. Pricey, but a good place for THE special vacation dinner. My only dissatisfaction was when my side loaded potato arrived lukewarm. It took a few minutes to replace it and I ate my filet from my bread plate. It would have been appreciated...if the $9 baked potato had been removed from the bill for the inconvenience.More

We were suppose to sit on the patio. When the air temps feel like over 100 degrees this doesn’t make for an enjoyable evening. There were not enough fans out there. We decided to eat inside at the bar. The chairs were very uncomfortable and...the a/c inside was lacking. For the price you pay for a meal there the a/c should be working properly. The food was very good, I had the lamb. However, I was disappointed how small the side portions were. Mine came with rice and a tomato and okra side. There was just a spoonful of each on the plate. I would only eat here again in the fall/winter.More

We were visiting Greenville for our wedding anniversary and chose Larkin's for our "fancy" dinner out. It's been described as a special occasion restaurant, so we were a little surprised to see so many diners in shorts, or very casual dress. But our table had...a beautiful view outdoors on the covered patio, our food was excellent and our server was attentive and went out of his way to make the meal special. The menu adds shrimp to a lot of dishes (which I don't eat) but our server was quick to offer suggestions for how those dishes could be enjoyed without them, checking with the chef to be sure I could have what I wanted. Both of our entrees were excellent: sea bass and filet mignon. And although we hadn't planned on dessert, our server offered us a complimentary selection with a special plating, spelling out our anniversary year in chocolate sauce around the platter. It was a truly marvelous tres leches cake, my favorite. He even adjusted the rolling shades so he could take a great picture of us with the river in the background. Couldn't have asked for more. The meal was expensive, but with appetizers and a bottle of wine, we felt like it was appropriate for the type of meal we had. Would definitely go back!More

If it’s not too hot and humid, I would recommend to make your reservation on the patio. But if you do eat inside, it’s an equally pretty interior. Food didn’t match the quality of the ambiance unfortunately. The calamari and deviled eggs were fair. The...chicken in the sandwiches and on the waffle were on the dry side. The crab bisque was tasty and the shrimp salad was a nice accompaniment to the soup. The craft cocktails were also very good. Service was slow but we weren’t in a rush so that didn’t bother us.More

We had our first dinner here after flying in from Southern California. Each of the 4 of us had steaks with different sides we could share: Boursin Mac & Cheese, Rosemary Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Asparagus, French Fries. My husband and I each had different soups...to start: She Crab for me and Corn Chowder for him. Both delicious!More

This location cant be beat as far as a beautiful outdoor seating venue. However, that is the best thing it has going for it. We sat inside due to the weather but would have been much more comfortable outside. With the heat and humidity in...the South this time of year, that is saying something. The AC was not working at all. It was terribly uncomfortable. Our service was great. We celebrated our daughter's birthday and they gave us Champagne on the house, which was very much appreciated. Salads were tasty and the dessert was awesome. My husband and me ordered the Chicken. I have never seen a Chicken breast that small. It was the size of a Cornish Hen but at just under $30, it was anemic. Our daughter had the Fillet which was good but undercooked. This is the 2nd time in a row we have said we wouldn't go back. Very disappointed.More

Our waiter was completely inept.. I ordered a Brandy Manhattan, was served a drink that was NOT a Brandy Manhattan, when I asked about it was told they didn't have Brandy. My husband had a Maker's Mark, when asked if he wanted a second one,...said NO but was served another one and charged for it. My second drink was a Bailey's that never arrived! The steak was terrible! Tasteless and tough, and for $49 for the steak ONLY, sides are $10 extra each. We asked our waiter to split the check which he did not do. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN, AND NOW YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!More
