This has got to be the absolute best "fast-food Japanese " restaurant I have gone to. We've tried several other places, but always leave being disappointed with some part of the meal. Joy is our go to whenever we do not have the time to make a reservation at Kanpi of Tokyo.

I loved their California rolls! I tried the hibachi scallops and I was pleasantly surprised. They were small (about nickel size)but very good and there was plenty. The kids had teriyaki chicken and teriyaki steak, they said it was good...it must've been because they ate it all and that alone is saying something. I would definitely go back. My only... More

This place was very good and affordable. We had one entree of chicken and one with shrimp/scallops. Both were excellent. Large portions.

Not sure if they've changed hands or what but I enjoyed this much more the last time we went. This time I brought the entire family, even my parents. The wait was not as long this time, but the food quality just seemed not as good. I love the "shrimp" sauce / pink mayo. The green tea too. It's sort... More

I asked the staff to tell the owner to please switch to paper products, as I will not be back for HOT tea and HOT miso soup & HOT meals served in styrofoam, as this can cause cancer from the styrene chemicals leaking into the hot liquid! I need to protect my health...so please switch to paper products to serve... More

It doesn't look like much on the inside, but the teriyaki chicken is great, as is their white sauce! The spring rolls were a bit soft on the inside, but the outside was crispy and had a great flavor. The calamari was tasty, but a little rubbery. It was definitely elevated by their white sauce. The fried rice had a... More

So, when you walk in, it looks very cafeteria-ish but the service is quick and the food is piping hot. The steak hibachi was perfectly cooked and the rice and veggies were tasty. The sushi was decent but not amazing. We have since ordered take-out several times.

The taste is just so fresh and good. How can a griddle make the meat so tasty? We cannot get enough "JOT" our entire family loves their bowls of rice, meat, and veggies. Their white sauce is addictive and should probably be regulated.
