First time since we moved to Pawleys Island in June. It is certainly a great place to have a relaxing time and appetizing meal. The harborwalk was the end of a great evening for us. We will be back for a second experience with no...More

Really enjoyed the view and the food! Service was great, also! The crawfish dip and crab balls appetizers were amazing! Shrimp and grits may have been the best I've ever had! Can't wait to go back!

Picked this place at random, as it was mid way between where we were staying in Charleston, and where relatives were staying in Myrtle beach. Pleasantly surprised. Food was great. Servers were friendly. Location was great, with a boardwalk along the water. Will definitely go...More

We walked right in and were seated quickly. Pleasant atmosphere. A bit tight with the seating (tables were close) but a window seat is hard to beat. The hot crawfish dip was tasty; even our picky 16 year old enjoyed it...the tortilla chips for dipping...More

We stopped in on the first day we arrived in Georgetown for dinner. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The seafood casserole is delicious! The menu items are a bit on the pricey side, but trust me it is well worth it!

Food was excellent. We had shrimp creole, New England clam chowder and sampled the chicken salad. The shrimp creole had an abundance of juicy tomatoes.

We had the grouper and crab cakes. The food was delicious and served at proper temperature. The fish was not over cooked and the crab cakes were meaty. Sides of collard greens, grits and vegetables were great, too. A slice of key lime pie with...More

What are your gluten free options? I generally get the Joe's chicken, but menu says it is "floured and pan-fried." Is there a gluten free substitution that can be done?

When we were there in November, my husband had the fish sandwich and he asked the waitress what kind of fish they used and she told him it was flounder. He said it was delicious!!

The River Room has served delectable coastal-influenced fare to a tremendous following of loyal patrons since 1984.Moderately-priced lunch items include our World Famous Shrimp and Grits, Shrimp Creole and Pecan Chicken Salad served with apples and grapes. The dinner menu features fresh, grilled fish such as Carolina grouper, yellow-fin tuna and Atlantic salmon. Chef specialties include Herb-crusted Grouper, McClellanville Crab Cakes and Twin Filets of Beef with Blue Cheese ButterThe River Room is located in the historic J.B. Steel Building. In 1888 when the J.B. Steele Building opened, it housed two businesses known as the Steele-Moses stores. Downstairs, customers inspected dry goods and groceries displayed on massive hardwood counters, and upstairs they could be fitted for custom-made hats.Today, the building’s history is evident throughout and is enhanced with tasteful nostalgic décor. The dining room extends 50 feet into the Sampit River; its panoramic windows offer expansive harbor views. Nautical and turn-of-the-century antiques are on display, and an intimate bar showcases the restaurant’s wine collection.Children will surely make a beeline for the giant reef aquarium filled with colorful sea life.
