We are stopping overnight in Columbia, SC. Decided to try something local...saw this place. Inside is so-so...lotta locals there. I ordered the Fried Chicken (their most ordered for 35 years) and it was dry and uninteresting. The mashed potatoes were lumpy and the gravy was ho-hum. The mac-cheese was lumpy-odd and was cold. The cornbread was a muffin and pretty... More

I ordered fried flounder, candied yams, and squash casserole. I have no complaints whatsoever. The food temperature was good. The fish was golden in color and fried perfectly. The squash casserole was tasty and the candied yams curved my sweet tooth.

Me and my husband decided to stop in here to eat while out of town. It has an old school country restaurant vibe to it and the food was all home cooked and amazing as well. I had the fried pork chop with different kinds of vegetables. My husband had the country fried steak with vegetables. All of the food... More

I used the 356togo.com site to order from here for delivery to my hotel. Good move.I got the catfish w/ 3 vegetables: collards, creamed corn and yams. 2 cornbread muffins came with it. I ordered a coke and some pecan pie for desert. This is good food.

Food was good, but not great. Fried chicken little dry, mac & cheese bland, collard greens very good. Chefs salad was very large and very good. Service was excellent. Price was better than fair, 2 of us ate for $20. Family style dining. Bottom line just not over the top...

I said "Honey find us one of them diners". We were traveling from Atlanta to Charleston. We exited off of I-26 and made a left, rounded the corner and saw the sign. Before I could read "Real Country Cooking" on the sign I was already in the parking lot. Plenty of food, cheap, flavor-FULL, yummy, and that's just the Chicken... More

Horrific customer service. Maybe they shouldn't have a drive through because that's where I hear most people complain. The lady at the drive through had an attitude. I repeated my order three times and I knew when she told me my Total it still wasn't right. So when I drove up to the window and asked if she had all... More

These are everywhere in Columbia. The breakfast is good and the fried chicken is pretty good but not the best. The range of sides is great, but it's all canned. Service is what you would expect and the price is reasonable. This chain is like a lesser known Cracker Barrel or Bob Evans.

The food is better than cafeteria (K&W style) food but not as good as a Cracker Barrel. I had Chicken Fried Steak with green beans and baby Lima beans. The steak was okay. The veggies were delicious. My husband had the Beef Stew which was again just okay. His veggies - steamed cabbage, green beans and black eyed peas were... More

Just a warning this is not a four star restaurant; but worth a try If you want a taste of southern cooking. Good food and friendly service. Breakfast is even better.
