We were advised to give this spot a try and with high praise. What a disappointment. The service was just o.k., the meals were, at best o.k. and the prices way out of line for this experience. We dine out and travel frequently and have been blessed with the ability to visit the eastern seaboard when we want to do... More

We had a wonderful evening. The cod fish, duck, the shrimps, the chocolate and the creme brûlée were so good! The atmosphere, service, too. But the starters were all quite disappointing.

Food was excellent! Love all the items from Edisto and local farms in SC. Loved the Old Fashion w burnt orange peel. Service was perfect thanks to Allison? She was very knowledgable of the menu preparations.

Motor Supply Co really knows how to combine flavours together to come up with something special! The menu changes twice a day, but the one thing that stays the same - it does not disappoint had braised beef ribs and the duck - all amazing. Shout out to Stephanie our server who brought the menu to life for us. She... More

This is by far the best restaurant we have found in Columbia during our 10 months living here. Price was reasonable and portion size perfect. Cannot imagine the negative reviews as everything we were served was perfection. We started with the potato leek soup and the crispy fried oyster salad. The oyster salad was one of the top salads I... More

Enjoyed the cheese plate to start. The Duck Duo was plentiful and interesting, well cooked. The pork chop was perfectly cooked and juicy, supposedly, a high demand item. If you have tummy space leftover, get the key lime pie!

After a full-day's flight, finding Motor City open on a Sunday night was a pleasure. The atmosphere is comfortable, with a warm feel. The bar staff has great knowledge of their wide selections of wine and beer (as well as cocktails). I had the steamed-clams appetizer, flat iron steak main, and followed with a cheese plate. All were well-balanced in... More

This is a tough one the food was good but not great the waiter and bus help we're great the Manager maitre d didn't even acknowledge me on way in or out. The short ribs were tasty but a very small portions. My son and I left hungry, you need to order sides ala carte. Peanut butter Reese's dessert was... More

I've heard wonderful things about Sunday brunch here, but I was underwhelmed. My fruit was completely unripe and I wasn't even able to eat it. My food was fine, but nothing special. I may have gone on an "off day" but I was not impressed.

We had an excellent meal with selections of fresh ingredients used in the different dishes. Menu is handwritten daily to take advantage of seasonal products. Well prepared dishes with southern touches in many of the dishes overall. Good affordable wine selections reasonably priced.

Description
Located in the historic Congaree Vista with a heated patio and free valet parking, Motor Supply has been serving progressive, New World cuisine using classic French culinary techniques for over 20 years. Led by Executive Chef Wesley Fulmer, the kitchen's lunch, dinner and brunch handwritten menus change daily, featuring contemporary New American cuisine, with nods to Creole, Cajun, New Southern, French, Italian and Asian cuisine. We are Columbia's foremost "farm to fork" restaurant, working with local, sustainable farms for produce, meats, SC seafood and more. Seafood is caught off of the Carolina coast, and all of our stocks, sauces and desserts are made on site, including our charcuterie, with house-made sausages, bacon, country pate, and rillettes, all the way down to the pickles and mustard. Our early 19th century, solid-oak bar with marble columns, imported from Europe, serves 180+ fine wines (Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence, 2006-12), an extensive list of imported, domestic and local craft beers, as well as an artisan farm-to-shaker cocktail list made from house-infused liquors, handmade bitters, barrel-aged spirits and locally-sourced ingredients and garnishes.
