Found this restaurant to be understated as far as ambiance and decor but they put their effort into fine food and reasonable prices. Had the Italian salad and the seafood bowl with linguine. Both very good.

I've visited Gennaros a year ago the food was amazing! I went out with my bestie and my seafood fettuccine was disgusting. I only took a few bites and asked for a to go box for $25 I should have went elsewhere. I will not...More

Oh what a night. Excellent food, service, and ambience with a live live jazz band in the background. The food was outstanding but the music was so good, it made you want to getup to dance. (The food won). The band is only on Thursday,...More
Entered the restaurant and was seated right away. Our waitress was pleasant and knowledgeable. We ordered their special for restaurant week. It consisted of an appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert. The calamari appetizer was outstanding (cut and breaded in house). The salad was fine. The...More

During a stay in Folly Beach, we decided to find an Italian restaurant instead of eating seafood. We found Gennaro's and absolutely loved it! We enjoyed the atmosphere, we loved the waiter Dalton, the owner was interesting and the food was delicious!
We'd been away from Gennaro's far too long and decided to return when we had an out-of-town relative visiting. We always enjoy everything about this restaurant. It's very much like the restaurants we grew up enjoying in the northeast - comfortable, friendly, prompt but unobtrusive...More
I was in town for business and asked a local what he recommended. I was pleasantly surprised to arrive and enjoy their live band playing. They played quite a variety of music genres. The food was good. I had the shrimp and pasta. Be sure...More
Nice surprise. I like the quiet and dark ambience for a change. No screaming kids. We ordered the eggplant parmigiana, which was top notch, and the chicken bolognese. It is one of their popular dishes but I didn't like it, but there are plenty of...More
