We really enjoyed this market - the vendors we spoke with were nothing but friendly and helpful. Sure, some of the products are things you've seen before but you'll have that at any type of 'market'. There were also lots of original, really unique items, and we purchased from several different vendors. It was something we would definitely visit again... More

As markets go, it was ok, nothing really that special. I was expecting to see more food stalls, but there was none. Nothing really caught out eye that we hadn't seen before.

Visited this place both during the day and returned later in the evening. A great place to interact with local artisans and pick up some neat local products. A cruise ship was in so the place was crowded. The night market was less crowded once the ship departed.

The market is a wonderful place to walk through and browse or purchase authentic South Carolina items. So many different vendors selling so many different things it was wonderful to stroll through. The best time to go is at night when the rules of selling change: you have to be the originator of the items you are selling; no mass... More

Whenever we take people to Charleston, they always want to see the market and I dread it. I guess the first time wasn't so bad as I kept thinking that I would find something unusual or wonderful. Never did. Soooooo many people! So crammed! Same ol, same ol.

Charleston- and South Carolina-made products, including food, candles, jewelry and the handwoven seagrass baskets, a skill passed down through the generations. From March through December, the Night Market, offering different vendors than daytime market, also has local performers, including marionettes.

It's a nice indoor market with lots of homemade crafts. I was surprised they charge tax even at the market. They need to stay open later during the week. The baskets are extremely over priced. Hundreds of dollars for a basket? It smells like horse manure in that area especially on a humid day. Horses in the area for tours... More

I think this is something everyone should do at least once. There are some great authentic stuff in the mix but there is also some cheap products as well so just keep an eye out. Fun!

Not sure what folks want from a place like this. It's a bunch of booths with somewhat typical flea market goods ... soaps, pictures, Christmas ornaments (in May?), baskets, hair stuff, dust collectors, not-very-tasty food. But it's free, and if you like that stuff, whatever.
