We've loved Magnolias for many years. Every time we go to Charleston, it's the first reservation we make. Sadly, we were disappointed this time. The restaurant seems to be taking advantage of it's star status and failed to match our previous experiences. My husband ordered the wahoo dinner special, and was presented with a disappointingly small piece of fish on... More

Great evening dining upstairs. We were a large group so had the room upstairs to ourselves. We were all very hungry after the long run. Had great starters. The home made chips and blue cheese were good and the fish cakes wonderful. The filet steak was very good but my wife has the salmon and was disappointed. It was dry.... More

Had Scott as a waiter and it was one of the best serviced meals we'd had. Ordered a half bottle of Savignon Blanc and order 4 small plates; pork belly with pan cornbread & spicy beans, scallops with friend cornbread, fried green tomatoes (they could have been seasoned a bit better and sliced thinner, and deep friend mac and cheese... This remains our go to Charleston restaurant. The finest food and service and a great atmosphere. Took friends for their first time and they predictably loved it.

My wife and I recently had dinner with friends at this landmark Charleston restaurant. Free parking is provided adjacent to the restaurant with a validated ticket from the restaurant. The place was very busy even early in the evening around 5:30 pm so reservations are important. The wait staff are very friendly and well versed in the menu offerings. I... More

We were back in Charleston and couldn't leave without having crab cakes again. We could only get lunch reservations since this is a very popular spot. The crab cakes were as good as I remembered-still the best I've ever eaten. The pimento cheese appetizer and she crab soup were also outstanding. Definitely a must go restaurant!

Good food, nice atmosphere, and very good service. I recommend the shellfish and grits...so good! The homemade pimento cheese as an appetizer is a winner. The fried green tomatoes were pretty good, need to be sliced a little thinner. Our waiter was awesome and knowledgeable of all the food and spirits. The bread they served is probably the best bread... More

Our party of 4 needed a reservation for lunch today, a sign of the popularity of the restaurant. We were quickly seated and our server arrived shortly afterwards for drink orders. She gave us time to read the menu and ask questions. Since there are no vegan dishes on the menu except a salad, I asked about several sides. She... More
