Sitting amid the oldest landscaped gardens in America at Middleton Place, this restaurant offers convenient and delicious dining with a beautiful view. We stopped for lunch after a morning of walking and a house tour there. The menu had some very nice sounding selections, but we opted for the Southern Sampler Luncheon buffet. There were not that many items, but... More

This is a good place to break up a visit to this extensive property. Very popular. the food is good. it is a "sit down" restaurant, rather than the usual historic site eating place.

My friends and I recently had dinner at the Middleton Place Restaurant. We were so excited with the beautiful woodland setting. The fried oysters were so over fried that they were dark brown and grainy. The only salad offered was one of frisée when there are so many other varieties in season. The fried chicken was barely edible. The tile... More

I enjoyed my fish of the day, but the others in my group were disappointed in their meal. The fried oysters were hard and overcooked and the fried chicken was dry and overcooked. One person said her salad had too much dressing. The she crab soup was good but the dessert was awful. I ordered the apple crisp which was... More

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. The restaurant has plenty of seating and a wonderful outdoor area. Unfortunately, we were not asked if we would like to sit outside and didn't know about the area until we left. There is a small selection of items on the menu and also a low country buffet for $20. We opted for... More

This was a spur of the moment romantic dinner. We called for the reservation. I did ask for a window seat, but we were not accomodated. The server, Jordan, was wonderful. She made sure that we had everything that we needed. We both ordered wine. We tried the house wines and I did like the Cabernet Savignon. The Chardonay was... More

We enjoyed a great lunch here. Their buffet was full of delicious food and priced well and the Hugonot Pie for desert was special! Get there early though as it fills up quickly.

Each of the four of us didn't think the food was as good as we had expected. Each of us felt the meals all had too much of a vinegar taste. Asked for sherry for the she crab soup and was given sherry vinegar -- not at all what I expected. Maybe we just picked the wrong dishes. Good service... More

There were 8 in our party. We all enjoyed salads after our tour of the gardens. It was a nice place to refresh after our visit through the gardens.

We ended up having lunch 1/2 way through our visit. The property is about 15-20 minutes outside of Charleston, in the country, so once you are there it will be difficult to find another place to eat. The food was good. They have a buffet and and you can order off the menu.
