Had a great meal at the Grocery. The staff was friendly, and the food was fresh and tasty. I had the lamb meatballs, which were tender and flavorful. The shared the wood-roasted fish (sea bass), which was fabulous. The vegetarian in our group enjoyed the freshness and variety of the offerings. I would recommend a meal here!

My husband and I went here after reading other reviews, and we're glad we did! An amazing menu of seafood and other specialties, and interesting flavors that made it memorable.

Brunch at The Grocery is quite delightful. The names of their offerings may sound very familiar but being breakfast dishes, they are much different from what you would expect. For example my Philly cheese steak has no resemblance whatsoever to a traditional sandwich of that name but was served in a very imaginative way and was quite delicious. The test... More

We had dinner Saturday night at The Grocery and it could have been a terrific experience but for a couple of major points. First off, the decor is very cool, it's comfortable, and our reservation was waiting. The food was interesting, tasty, hot, timely, and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, our servers attitude left a lot to be desired, the arrogant smirk... More

I'm surprised by the less than enthusiastic reviews about this place. We had a wonderful meal: a great selection of veggie appetizers, a tasty blue crab dish, and a beautiful for-the-table bone-in-steak dish. Would be happy to return.

Disappointed with Signature Dinner during Wine and Food week. The food was not inspiring and the wine was less good. The wines were provided by Kivelstadt Cellars and I can't say any of them was worth buying. The best part of the meal was the fifth/main dish which had some very tasty beef cheeks.

This is by far the worst experience we have had in Charleston. Lousy and slow service, the food was lukewarm, our friends sat down thirty minutes after us. Actually ate and paid their bill, before we got our food. We complained to the manager, never saw her again. There are too many great places to eat in Charleston, don't waste... More

Very good mimosas. Best stuffed French toast and a tasty charcuterie platter. Very friendly service.

Finally went to The Grocery. Not disappointed at all. Excellent food, excellent service. Would be 5 star except Charlston has so many excellent restaurants that 5 star has to be saved for really over-the-top great! We worth the visit and having parking is nice for a Charleston restaurant.

The Grocery was a fantastic place for dinner our first night in Charleston. Everything was super fresh and dishes were inventive while still being comfortably familiar. Great service, seems under rated since it wasn't fully booked but was one of our best meals in town.
