I may have over expected that the food was going to knock my socks off. It was good, but I found some local places downtown that were far better as far as selection and taste.

We had the chicken sandwich with fries upon arrival to the hotel. Basically, it was late and we were being lazy and didn't want to go back out. Woah! We sure were surprised! The chicken was among the best I have ever had the fries were hot and crispy. We went back fro breakfast the next morning and enjoyed that... More

We did not stay at the Marriott but our hotel next door recommend The Saffire for a quick bite within walking distance (along with a 15% discount). We were pleasantly surprised at the presentation and how tasty our meals were. The decor is very nice and our waiter Malcolm was great.

We were out and about and didn't want to stop on the way back to the hotel so we chose to give it a shot. The staff was great behind the bar but the food was average. With the options that Charleston has to eat please take advantage of all of the other ones that are incredible.

This was in walking distance from our hotel for a nice lunch on a Friday before being able to check in our hotel. Food was excellent!

My husband and I wanted a light meal as he was 2 days post surgery at MUSC. We wanted a nice quiet convenient place. Our hotel was located nearby but has no restaurant. The parking was frustration for diners only. The restaurant was just what we wanted. The decor was beautiful and the service was excellent. Our light meal of... More

Pleasantly surprised at the good food served in the bar area. The burger was excellent and the shrimp appetizer was very fresh. Service was spotty- very good one night and not as much the next- still would recommend for "hotel dining"

We arrived late on a Tuesday evening and decided to have dinner at the hotel. The dining room is laid out nicely for a hotel. Good wine selection at reasonable prices. We had the crab cake appetizer and the chilled jumbo shrimp - really good. My husband had their shrimp and grits and said is was surprisingly good - full... More

Two things: first of all, my wife and I arrived late at our hotel, and secondly there was no restaurant at the Hotel Inn Express. there were not many options that late at 9 PM, so we went to the Marriot next door to the Sapphire Reataurant & Bar. Restaurant had just closed so we ate at the bar. The... More

After a long travel day and upon checking in to the Marriott, we wanted to have dinner. We walked through the lobby and over to the hostess stand at the Saffire. We waited....and waited....and waited. Almost 15 minutes. Although someone back by the kitchen saw us after about 10 minutes; there was still no response. This was about 7pm on... More

No excuses... I apologize for the poor service and experience at our restaurant Saffire. Our staff is normally much more attentive and I am sorry that we disappointed you and lost your business for the whole weekend. I appreciate your comments and will address with appropriate staff. We are a better service group than what you experienced and I apologize... More
