The Hope Diner not only dishes out tasty meals -- great eggs, bacon, pancakes, potatoes, sandwiches, etc. -- but also a lot of atmosphere, with the chef in the middle of the dining area, chatting with co-workers and customers. It's a friendly place.

Have had breakfast here several times. Food is typical diner fare with an old time atmosphere. Last time I had fish hash which was a new thing to me. It was good but not great. Service is good and prices moderate.

This is the real deal folks, it is not a TV "that is so cute place"! Do expect good food, because that is what has had me coming back for more than 40 years.

First trip here and although the breakfast was good will not come back. Very loud chef constantly talking lousy from back was not what I wanted to hear with my breakfast. My husband looked appalled. Not a tidy place guess we are used to more upscale eateries than this. They were nice enough but not an atmosphere to enjoy while... More

This place is fun because of the characters there, such as the cook, who's often talking loudly to customers and staff alike. It's a friendly place with fine breakfasts and more. I've just had simple egg dishes, but have heard good things about the omelets with Portuguese chorizo sausage and the french toast made with Portuguese sweet bread.

Had lunch here on a visit to Bristol for the Herreshoff Marine Museum, America's Cup Hall of Fame. The service was great from the moment we stepped in. It was obvious to everyone that we had not been before, but all the staff, and the other customers, were friendly and helpful. Deborah had a cheeseburger and French fries. We agreed... More

Whenever we visit good friends in Bristol, we head to the Hope Diner for breakfast for Bobby-O omelets, home fries, chorizo sausage and sweet Portuguese bread. All are served by long time staff who are wonderful. Don't try to go to the Hope if you're on a diet. The food is just too wonderful to not try a bit of... More

A hometown diner offering exceptional breakfast foods. Tasty entrees, fast service. Atmosphere leaves a little to be desired, but the food makes up for it. Worth a try!!!!!!

Hope dinner has been around for ever so its no surprise they know how to do breakfast. Just about any breakfast item you can think off, they have. As popular as it is I've never had to wait for a seat, but I'm sure it happens on Sundays and Saturdays. The waitresses are pleasant and always there to top off... More
