We came to this establishment to see a local venue, and were quite suprised! Having never eaten there - we sampled a bit on the menu prior to the band. The appetizers we had were the house pretzel and fried mushrooms. The house pretzel was huge - but a little dry. Mushrooms were tasty. We shared a meat lovers pizza... More

Went for the wings and thought they were pretty good. Having said that, I think they would taste so much better if the owners would make the right decision and ban smoking from the restaurant. I don't know if the owners are smokers themselves but I think they must be to ignore most of the negative reviews concerning the way... More

Food was good. Service was okay. Forgot it was a smoking bar, that was a tad annoying. Overall, not bad for the money.

While in Pittsburgh on business I met a friend for a few beers and a bit. We enjoyed our time the food and drink was good. The place was a bit smokey and loud but what do you expect from Pittsburgh.

Stopped on a Saturday evening to have dinner with some friends as they live down the street from this place. It was a bit busy but not crazy. Waiter explained that he was fairly new. He was really trying his best. There were a couple of other waitresses but they moved at a snails pace. We ordered chicken nachos and... More

It had been a long day and after a very long trip to find a restaurant that ended up being so dirty and decrepit looking that we decided to find somewhere else to eat, we ended up stopping here. It is really a bar with a full service menu. A bar that even in 2016 allows smoking inside. We did... More

We used to go to the hop house a lot, they actually still had "wing night" for a good price, not that expansive crap. Hey have awesome flavors, and the rest of the menu is good as well, their salad is actually my favorite salad ever, and their beer selection is really good also. Just wish is wasn't a smoking... Ordered carryout Woodfired Pizza-Pepperoni-Large. Pizza was terrific, nice taste. Pizza was for two adults, one man and one woman. It was just enough, no leftovers. Feel like they need to make it just a tad bigger. With a salad, it is plenty. It is very smoky inside so just a warning if you do order pizza and are picking it... More

Some work friends and I decided to stop at the Hop House for some lunch during work hours, sit outside, and enjoy the sunny day. That was a mistake. The service is absolutely terrible and the wait staff is inattentive to their patrons' needs. I actually had to leave my place on the patio and RETRIEVE our waitress at all... More

The food was AMAZING! When your from Buffalo, its hard to find real chicken wings.....They were PERFECT!!! Great specials on other things and the beer was cheap!!! This is a smoking bar so be prepared for that. There is no smoking ANYWHERE where I am from. So as a smoker...it was kinda nice not to have to run outside. But... More
