Had sushi and tempura udon. Sushi was good. Fish was fresh. Good wasabi. Tempura was weird-- sort of sweet, and battered. Prefer panko.

This first come first serve restaurant is popular and offers both cooked Japanses food and sushi as well as noodles , menu is extensive. .Chawanmushi ( steamed egg custard ) a must tried appetizer( takes 20 min). Fried tofu good too. Toro sashimi is best value here ( tuna from Croatia region ) , five dollar a piece , always... More

My husband is a Sushimi nut. He says that Chaya is the best and most authentic Japanese restaurant in the area. I don't eat Sushi, but I always find something to eat and it is very delicious. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the entire restaurant is incredibly clean.

Their sushi was pretty good and the service was decent, but the room was way too warm for my liking.

Easy-going atmosphere. Unfussy, traditional cooking, dishes range from sashimi to noddles. Efficient service. Their Shojou Roll (Red Devil Roll) is amazing! Save space for a must have appetizer Motoyaki (giant clam cooked on the shell in front of you!) or beef negimaki!

You want good sushi that doesn't cost an arm & leg? This is the place! They are ONLY open Monday-Saturday 5pm-9:30pm & they get BUSY! All the sushi is great! My favorite is the Squirrel Hill Roll & I add sprouts.

I found my favorite Japanese restaurant, and I have not had main course yet!! Appetizers were fantastic! Authentic Japanese cooking throughout. Staff and chef being Japanese helps. For someone born and raised in Japan, this place is what I consider real Japanese restaurant.

Everything is done well at Chaya. They keep everything simple and free of gimmicks so they can focus on providing great food and service. The sushi is always well prepared and fresh tasting. The presentation is elegant as well. Most of the small dishes are very affordable so you can try a variety of things, or you can get a... More

The night my family went to Chaya we were in a hurry. There were 5 of us, and we only had about 30 minutes to eat as we had a show to attend up the street. We ordered 2 sushi deluxe platters, and the sushi came out quickly and was quite tasty. Our server was very nice also and very... More
