We had a waitress from Taiwan who was exceptionally sweet. Service was incredible, we did not need to ask for anything. She kept our tea flowing, ice waters filled, and made sure we had everything we needed. Food was excellent, we had egg rolls, beef chow fun and sweet and sour chicken. Piping hot and generous portions, we were not... More

I had a reason to be in downtown Pittsburgh at lunchtime so stopped for takeout. First time at Chinatown Inn in 31 years! They were busy, but able to seat everybody at the Noon hour. The Chicken Fried Rice was good and came with white meat chicken, although there could have been more chicken. No restaurant serves Chicken Fried Rice... More

It had been years since I had food from Chinatown Inn. I became a fan when I discovered their chicken egg rolls (a rarity at most Chinese restaurants). They are JUMBO and not expensive at all. Delicious! I also got an order of chicken fried rice. That was too greasy and it had no vegetables (I added peas, carrots &... More

I have been to this restaurant several times. Unfortunately this visit was problematic. The waitress was clearly having issues. She arrived at ur table of 5 promptly and asked to take a drink order. We ordered drinks and she came back and said that they could not make our Gin and Tonic because they don't have tonic anymore because it... More

Had to go downtown and found myself hungry after the activity, but not wanting to move my car since I had already paid for parking. This was a stones throw from where I was so I opted to give it a try. It was peak lunch hour and the place was packed but I was seated quickly. The lunch specials... More

My family and I have been going to Chinatown Inn for decades. The decor is rather plain as many Asian restaurant. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is Cantonese for the most part. For basic Chinese food, it is done well and the prices are very reasonable. Good place for several people, all sharing the dishes.

If you're looking for great Chinese food in downtown Pittsburgh, look no further. We tried this restaurant based on a "Chinese Food Near Me" query to Siri. We lucked out! I've been so dissatisfied with other Chinese food I've eaten recently, but the Chinatown Inn did not disappoint. Even though we arrived at 10:00pm, the staff was friendly, the restaurant... More

Nice quiet atmosphere and good basic Chinese food. The servers were very nice, and the restaurant was much nicer inside than the exterior suggested.
